X Rebirth screenshots and a new trailer have been released by the game’s publisher, Deep Silver. The space sim from Egosoft looks rather lovely, as it should for being in development for seven years. You won’t have to wait much longer though, as it is out on PC come November 19. You should look over the PC specs through a previous post.

Saints Row 4′s August release is looking less and less likely; EB Games now has Volition Inc’s latest down for a September 20 release at retail. Over the weekend, the retailer had pushed it back about one week to August 30, while Steam suddenly nominated an unspecified September launch. We sent a query to Deep Silver a few days ago but haven’t heard anything back yet. Saints Row 4 had been expected later this week on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but may have been delayed while the censored local version is manufactured. Pity; it’s had great reviews.

We were expecting Saints Row 4 to be released in Australia in its approved “low-violence version” on August 22, the same week everyone else gets it, but retailers claim that is no longer the case. EB Games AU now lists August 30 as the game’s release date, and on Steam it now carries an unlock date of September 20, although the season pass for the game still says August 20. We’ve reached out to Deep Silver for comment.

We have a new Saints Row 4 dev diary, and this one is all about people being real and whatnot. I mean people in the game, including Fun Shaundi and regular Shaundi, who don’t like each other very much. See for yourself. Game is out next week.

I can’t say what I think about Saints Row 4 until tomorrow, but I will point out that this new dev diary, which is heavy on talking heads explaining what this game’s deal is, does a pretty good job of summing it up. It actually is an accurate description what it is, and so if you’re on the fence about that purchase for when it releases next week this will be informative.

Saints Row 4 is full of bat-shit crazy scenarios. Don’t believe me? Hows this for an example: the aliens are trying to break the will of the people they abduct, so they toss them into “Nightmare Scenarios”. Yeah, sounds all kinds of odd and just ripe for shenanigans doesn’t it?

Inauguration Station, the Saints Row 4 account which allows you to create your character and download it into the game upon release is live on Xbox Live and Steam. According to Deep Silver, it will release on the North American end of PSN next Tuesday “due to circumstances beyond our control.” A video showing how it works is below. Check out the opening mission while you are at it. Saints Row 4 hits PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in North America on August 20, and across Europe on August 23.
