A $40 collector’s edition for Adventure Time has turned up on GameStop, sporting a sword-shaped stylus, poster, art book and steelbook packagaing. Naturally you’re all over that, and thankfully, the retailer told Joystiq the package isn’t exclusive to GameStop, so check with your local store before accepting the $30 standard edition. WayForward’s DS and 3DS tie-in launches in October. Check out a trailer here.

Hopefully, platforms and regions other than Japan will be announced soon. Until then, you can always import Earth Defense Force 3 Portable for Vita this September after it releases in Japan.

D3Publisher has announced an agreement with DreamWorks Animation which will see the firm taking over development of studio’s next three films: Madagascar 3, The Croods, and Rise of the Guardians. Previously, THQ was on board to develop, but announced last week it was leaving the kids’ licensed business. The first title to be released, Madagascar 3: The Video Game, will hit shelves alongside the movie’s release in theaters. Rise of the Guardians is to be released during the holidays and The Croods during spring 2013. Thanks, Gamasutra.

You’d be forgiven for thinking the main character in Onechanbara Z is Aya, since Kagura’s outfit is so very similar, but it’s not. The female heroine of this title is a half-vampire from Romania, so the only similarities between the two ladies are their penchant for skimpy outfits. She also has a sidekick named Saaya who can slice and dice enemies with the best of them with her named weapons. Don’t worry though, Aya and her half-sister Saya are still around, but this time as your enemies, with the former now donning an assassin’s outfit and supposedly responsible for the horrors banging around Tokyo. Onechanbara Z: Kagura will be released as an Xbox 360 exclusive on January 19, 2012 in Japan. Check out shots of it over on Siliconera.

This week’s Famitsu has confirmed God Eater 2 for PSP, according to Andriasang. The action-adventure sequel is to take place three years after events in the original game. You’ll get new male and female main characters; new weapons, such as the Boost Hammer and Charge Spear; and new Aragami creatures.
We don’t know what “Aragami creatures” are, but you might. God Eater released for PSP in Japan in 2010, hitting the west as Gods Eater Burst this year. Expect screens and all the rest of it from TGS this week.
