Witcher 3 dev: too many features make for an “average, crappy game”

The Witcher 2 mod adds tons of fixes, due very soon
The Witcher 2 is being updated considerably with a new, unofficial patch from The Witcher 3 developer Andrzej Kwiatkowski, who made it in his spare time with REDkit. It should be ready soon; CD Projekt RED PR manager Agnieszka Szostak told us it will turn up ahead of the “couple of weeks” timeframe we expected. Full patch notes on PCGamesN reveal loads of balancing changes and fixes for the two year old RPG.

Witcher 3 dev says the game counts, not the money
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developer CD Projekt RED has often spoken out against the desire for money without intending to invest it back into game development. Now, studio CEO Marcin Iwinski has re-affirmed the company’s stance by saying that the game is what matters, not the money.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can draw on your Witcher 2 save file
The PC version of The Witcher 3 will pull a BioWare in importing data from your save files, and CD Projket RED is hoping to do something similar with consoles.

Witcher modtools slip out into the wilds
CD Projekt had a bit of an accident this week and briefly released REDkit, its modding suite for The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The friendly developer has advised that any of those lucky enough to snaffle the early release are welcome to go ahead and use them; the official release is almost upon us, thankfully. “Please give us just a little bit more time (it’s almost here!)” community manager Marcin Momot said.

Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be a “dark and hopeless world” like Blade Runner
Cyberpunk 2077 won’t rely on the pen and paper mechanics inherent in the Cyberpunk 2020 table top game it’s based on, because according to CD Projekt Red, mechanics such as those don’t work when translated into video games. In fact, such mechanics would make the game “super boring.”

Witcher 3 has “no place for multiplayer”, developer confirms
