Monster Hunter 4 screenshots show two new monsters
Monster Hunter 4 screenshots have been posted to the official website by Capcom. If you head through the link to look at the small 3DS shots, you will notice monsters such as Garara Ajara and Kunchuu – both of which are new to the series. The battlefield “Unknown Sea of Trees is also present along with the Charge Axe. Monster Hunter 4 is out this summer in Japan. Thanks, Gematsu.

Resident Evil: Revelations Steam pre-orders open
Capcom has opened Steam pre-orders for Resident Evil: Revelations, the HD remaking of the 3DS title which is considered a little more old school than Resident Evil 6, which also arrived on PC recently. The publisher is running one of those rolling pre-order incentive schemes; the first tier offers an artbook and soundtrack; the second includes Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions; and the third throws in a DLC season pass. The first tier has already been unlocked. Revelations will set you back $50.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate patch adds cross-regional and off-screen play next week
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate will be patched next week, providing users with off-TV play and cross-region play. Look for it on the eShop in North America April 15 around 8.00pm EST and in Europe during the wee hours of April 16 around 1.00am. Thanks, Joystiq.

Cancelled Mega Man FPS reboot Maverick Hunter detailed
The cancelled Mega Man shooter which was in the works Armature Studio has been revealed by sources close to Polygon. If you head on through the link, you will become privy to some screenshots and videos showing the “proof of concept build”. The game was purportedly canned once Keiji Inafune left Capcom in 2010, and neither Armature nor Capcom have yet to comment on the report. Go have a look at what might have been.

Lost Planet 3 has been delayed into August
Lost Planet 3 has been delayed into August for “business reasons,” Capcom has announced. Originally slated for June 25 in North America and in Europe on June 28, it will now release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 on August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe.

Darkstalkers Resurrection patch due next week
Darkstalkers Resurrection will be patched on April. Producer Tomoaki Ayano revealed the update in a post on Capcom Unity; it will add fight request features to arcade and training modes as well as a number of bug fixes including a remedy for replay upload issues. Darkstalkers Resurrection is a compilation of the second and third games in the series, remastered in HD and available via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Left 4 Dead 2 cast now available in Resident Evil 6
The Left 4 Dead 2 cast is now available for free to PC owners of Resident Evil 6. The characters are playable in the Mercenaries: No Mercy mode of the title, and it comes complete with the Midnight Riders tracks. Those who play L4D2 can now also shoot up the RE6 enemies Lepotitsa and Ogroman, which are new skins for existing enemies in the game. Hit up either game to get your mash-up.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate selling out in Europe
More news about people buying games instead of companies closing down because they don’t: according to a series of tweets from Nintendo Europe boss Satoru Shibata, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate stock is running low in PAL territory retailers. The executive said he expects more shipments in store for Wii U next week, and for 3DS by mid-April, and noted that eShop versions are available on both systems. The action RPG debuted close to the bottom of the UK charts this week.

Yoshinori Ono takes on corporate officer role at Capcom HQ
In addition to his exisiting appointment as deputy head of consumer games R&D, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono has accepted a position as a corporate office at Capcom Japan. On Twitter, the famously friendly industry veteran said it might be “tough” to enjoy the new role in addition to his current duties; Ono was taken ill last year due to overwork and has since publicly criticised Capcom for the pressure it places on staff.

Gaist Crusher for 3DS is Capcom’s new mixed media IP for children
Capcom has announced a cross-media project for 3DS called Gaist Crusher. The “custom armor action” focuses on player trading and transformations, and will also feature licenses such as anime, manga, music and toys with a focus on elementary age children. The manga series will appear in Shueisha’s V Jump and Saikyou Jump magazines, and the anime will be produced by Pierrot Co., Ltd. Gaist Crusher is slated for a winter 2013 release in Japan.
