Jean Guesdon, creative director at Ubisoft Montreal, has told VG247 that while the PS4 is definitely a hug leap forward compared to PS3, those who plan on purchasing Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag for PS3 won’t be disappointed, as it will still be a stellar experience.

To coincide with e availability of Batgirl for Injustice: Gods Among Us, Warner has released a history trailer for the lovely lady. Hit up the break for a watch. The character will be made available as DLC later on the PS Store in the US once it updates, is out today on Xbox Live as well, and will hit PSN in Europe tomorrow.

Guild Wars 2 has been given a permanent price drop, NCsoft has announced. The standard edition will now run you £34.99/$49.99 and the Deluxe version £49.99/$69.99. The new price point, which is $10 off the launch price, is effective starting today. The new price coincides with the conclusion of the Southsun Cove event next week, called Last Stand at Southsun. Resident Evil: Revelations developer Capcom has released a launch trailer for its HD re-release, full of static and quick shots of beasties. The games out on PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360 today in the States, and on Friday across Europe.

GRID 2 developer Codemasters has released another new gameplay video from its racer, this time showing off the urban Yas Marina circuit. THe game’s out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 from May 28 in the States and May 31 across Europe.

Deep Silver and unheralded games company Rubicon Organization have a new ground-based co-op twin-stick shooter called Narco Terror that is primed for release this summer/winter (sometime in the next few months, to be clear) to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. A trailer that explains it all is inside.

At some point this past weekend, there were 329,977 Steam users running DOTA 2. That’s a new record for any single game on the Steam platform, beating down the previous record of ~297,000 players gathered in DOTA 2 in early March. The West qualifiers for The International tournament — with a prize pool currently topping $2 million — were this weekend, and folks can watch through the client, so that probably had something to do with it.

This week, they’re putting out ten new Ultimate Editions, and they’re making them even cheaper than they normally would. Plus subscribers get a better discount, as usual. Full list inside.

In Final Fantasy VII, Cloud carries around like a really big sword. It’s as big as he is really, and I’ve often wondered how he could even hold the thing. Now, the guy who made a real-life version of the Minecraft diamond sword built this Buster sword, and it is completely ridiculous. Video inside.

We know that the next-gen Xbox reveal taking place tonight will show off next-gen FIFA and next-gen Call of Duty, but we expect that many of the big game announcements will be left for Microsoft’s E3 press conference. But it could be that we’ll find out something about Battlefield 4 at the imminent event.

The personal website of a game developer named Jehan Choo who once contracted with Visceral Games contained until a few hours ago a reference to work done on “pre-vis environments, mood pieces, and texture work for a PS4/Xbox 720 title” at Visceral, which is best known lately for the producing the Dead Space games.
