505 Games and Overkill Software, a Starbreeze Studio, have announced Payday 2 will no longer be limited to digital download. The game will also be released globally at retail PS3 and Xbox 360. Payday 2 will release for consoles and PC, via Steam, in August 2013. Box art is below.

Terraria will finally arrive on the European PS Store in May, 505 Games has announced. Already available in the US and on PC and XBLA in Europe, the game contains four-player split-screen, eight-player online and other goodies. You can download it from the PlayStation Store on May 15. Plus members will also get 10% off it’s regular price. A Vita version is also in the works and expected sometime this summer.

Here’s a couple of images showing off the console port of Terraria, which support up to four players in local split-screen, and via network, up to eight – two groups of four. The side-scrolling craft-em-up was expected sometime in February but seems to have slipped a bit; it will eventually turn up on both Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network.

Macquarie University Cricket Club and Exeter University Men’s Cricket Club have won an appearance in Ashes Cricket 2013. Publisher 505 Games held a two week social media campaign to choose the lucky clubs, attracting 20,000 Facebook fans and 16,245 votes. A number of celebrities, including Hugh Grant, got involved, and competing teams produced all sorts of videos and initiatives in order to have their team recreated in-game. Ashes Cricket 2013 is due in the UK on PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360 on June 21.

Serellan has announced its successfully funded Kickstarter project, Takedown, will be published by 505 games.

Sniper Elite V2 is heading to Wii U in May, if listings by Amazon and GameStop are any indication. Amazon has the title releasing on May 21 and GameStop has it down for May 24. Eurogamer notes the dates appear to be the US and UK releases, respectively. Rebellion and 505 Games were unavailable for comment on the matter.

The PC indie hit Terraria is headed to consoles, and VG247 was given an exclusive look at what’s new and special about the console port. Gameplay footage is below.

Sniper Elite V2′s free multiplayer expansion was released today, and Rebellion has released a set of screenshots to accompany the mode. Released alongside the multiplayer, was the previously announced weapons pack DLC for use on and offline, and features the US M1 Carbine with an improved rate of fire and high ammo count. It also comes with the German MP44 and the British made Webley Mk6 Revolver. All three weapons are available as a single download priced at 240 Microsoft points or £3.19 through PSN.
