2K has been really quiet regarding XCOM of late, until it recently went so far as to remove official videos from its YouTube channel and taking the website offline. Last month, a report from Superannuation stated that the game may be in the process of a re-brand due to domain registrations for “thebureau-game.com” and “whathappenedin62.com” popping up – so the culled assets and information seemed to indicate this. Today, Videogamer posted a video of XCOM related contents it received in the mail, proving – hopefully- that it is indeed a re-brand and not an all out cancellation. Watch for yourself below. Thanks, SplatteredHouse.

GTA 5 will contain a character named Casey, although what role he plays in the story in unknown at present. Confirmation of the character appeared on an actor’s page posted on IMDB. Casey is voiced by Jeff Wincott – who backed up his role in GTA 5 on Twitter – who has played various roles on different series on television such as Night Heat, 24 and Sons of Anarchy. He has been in movies as well, his most recent being the 2010 Denzel Washington film Unstoppable where he played Chris Pine’s brother. GTA 5 will be released on PS3 and Xbox 360 September 17.Via Gameranx. Thanks, LengendaryBoss.

IGN reports 300,000 gamers tackled this week’s match up, and of the successful attempts so far, many are duplicates, with just 617 unique players. Mac port developer Aspyr has advised that it has released an update for the OS-X version of Borderlands 2. The patch adds leaderboards, achievements and “more importantly, multiplayer co-op with their Game Center friends”. Hopefully that last one means the much-touted cross-platform compatibility with PC is also back, having vanished thanks to a Gearbox update to the Windows version last year. Aspyr has also made DLC available as in-game purchases, and is offering 50% off the shooter RPG sequel on the Mac App Store.

If you haven’t yet experienced the original BioShock and its solid if not quite as magical sequel, now is the time. Gamefly is offering both games on PC for $5, and if you use this Dealzon coupon code, you’ll pay just $4. If that doesn’t fill the hole left in your life by the ending of BioShock Infinite I am unsure what will. Probably nothing. There is only sorrow, forever.
