Razer has announced it’s secured $50 million from IDG-Accel Capital Fund, a venture capital firm in Beijing, and company is considering making an initial public offering. According to chief executive Min-Liang Tan: “Given our global reach, we wanted an institutional partner who didn’t just provide funding but could also help us scale. We remain opportunistic and going public is one of the many routes we can take. We’re focused on our products and design and ultimately believe that those are key to a successful business, and the IPO process will sort itself out.
The firm hasn’t set a date for its IPO, which is currently pending while consultations with its financial advisers are in the works. Via ABS-CBN.

Like Xenoblade Chronicles before it, it looks as though Nintendo’s optional 3DS accessory Circle Pad Pro will launch in the US as a GameStop exclusive. Launching in the country on February 7, the peripheral will run you $19.99 and works as an additional shoulder button attachment for games such as Resident Evil Revelations and METAL GEAR SOLID 3D Snake Eater. Mentioned as part of the Nintendo Release Schedule posted earlier this morning, we contacted GameStop to see if it would be exclusive, and our local shop said “yes”, but we’ve yet to hear back from Nintendo on the matter.

A report over on Andriasang states that the Circle Pad Pro for 3DS will last for 480 hours of gameplay using just one AAA battery. Nice to know, since the battery is protected by a cover-plate that requires a screw driver to remove it. Still, that is a bit inconsequential, since the battery will last for 20 days, and that’s if you used the peripheral for 24-hours a day the entire time. The Circle Pad Pro and its nifty, extra thumbstick will release alongside Resident Evil: Revelations in Europe on January 27.
