A new standalone app for PlayStation 3 titled Visualizer, will be released by Q-Games next week. It contains a new set of over two dozen music visualizers to use with your PS3’s music library, and will arrive in North America on Tuesday, August 13 a special, limited launch price of $2.99. Once the two-week launch window is up, the app will be available for $4.99. It will be released in Europe and Asia “shortly thereafter.” Have a look at screens for it on the PS Blog and watch it in action below.

Beat Hazard Ultra, the arcade shooter that makes use of your music library, has been given an update, and has been re-released on the Xbox indie channel for 400 MS Points. The update adds co-op, versus online and local multiplayer as well as boss rush and survival modes. There are also two new bosses, 10 new enemy ships, 24 new perks, and three new tactical weapons, according to D’toid. The game’s creator Steve Hunt also said the game has sold over 700,000 copies since its initial release, thus making around $2.2 million. The game is also available for PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and PS3.

VidZone, the streaming music video service from Sony, is now available on PS3 in the US. VidZone can be accessed on PS3 for free by installing the VidZone app from the TV/Video Services category on the XMB. It can also be found on the PlayStation Store under the Media & Apps category. The service supports over 7,500 independent labels and is supported by ads.

DJ Egadz has released a mobile rhythm action game in promotion of his upcoming debut album, Satellites. Called Space Beats, it is available for free from Google Play and the App Store

A web-based version of Xbox Music will launch next week, according to a Microsoft representative speaking with Engadget. According to The Verge, it’ll be quite similar to Spotify. Xbox Music was previously restricted to Xbox 360, Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices, but will now presumably be available wherever you have a Silverlight-equipped browser.
