Puzzle & Dragons has been downloaded 2 million times in North America, GungHo Online Entertainment has announced. The game has been downloaded over 21 million times combined in Japan and Korea. GungHo plans to release Puzzle & Dragons Z on 3DS in Japan this fall, and there are plans to release it in the west at some point as well. Last week, the firm reported its financials for the quarter, noting a decrease in revenue and profits by 55 and 12%, respectively. Thanks, Siliconera.

Knack’s companion app is now available as a free download on iOS. Knack’s Quest is a puzzle game tasking the player with collecting three or more matching parts for the mechanical beast. The more you collect, the larger Knack becomes – you much reach his size limit and complete the stage before time run outs. The items you discover can be used with the PlayStation 4 title when it launches alongside the console next week in North America and November 29 in Europe. Thanks, Videogamer.

Wargaming is entering the mobile space by funding a new Seattle-based studio headed up by Z2 founder David Bluhm. “We think mobile games is still a relatively new space with massive upside,” Bluhm told VentureBeat regarding the as-of-yet unnamed studio. “Mobile is ripe for innovative and new core game mechanics.” The studio also includes former Blue Manchu and EA PopCap’s Joe McDonagh and other former Z2 staffers. Thanks in no small part to mobile phenomenon Puzzles & Dragons, GungHo has a pretty absurd operating profit margin — 57 percent or so this past quarter. But with revenue and profits down 5 percent and 12 percent, respectively, quarter over quarter, the companies price fell sharply this week.

Blur Overdrive is now available for Android and will arrive on iOS November 1, Marmalade Play has announced. The top down racer was developed by Appcrowd, as part of a licensing deal with Activision. Formerly known as Ideaworks Game Studio and rebranded as Marmalade, company previously developed Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Backbreaker. Call of Duty: Strike Team is now available for Android on Google Play for $6.99. The title was released for iOS last month and can be played alternately in first-person or top-down mode. It contains a single-player campaign and survival mode.
