Yoshinori Ono takes on corporate officer role at Capcom HQ
In addition to his exisiting appointment as deputy head of consumer games R&D, Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono has accepted a position as a corporate office at Capcom Japan. On Twitter, the famously friendly industry veteran said it might be “tough” to enjoy the new role in addition to his current duties; Ono was taken ill last year due to overwork and has since publicly criticised Capcom for the pressure it places on staff.

Zynga’s CIO quits, and it appoints new VP of finance
Some shakeups in the executive quarters of social game giant Zynga this week, as it has announced that its chief information officer for the past two years, Debra Chrapaty, is leaving the company to go work with Nirvanix, a cloud storage company. She will be replaced by Dorion Carroll, who was already a Zynga executive. Zynga has also apparently hired a new vice president of finance, and that person is Atul Bragga, formerly an online and games analyst with Lazard Capital Markets.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 turns up in recruiting
A couple of new City Interactive job ads are looking for developers to work on something called Sniper 3 – presumably, the sequel to Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, which launched earlier this month. There’s no mention of next-gen hardware in the recruiting, which is a refreshing if surprising change.

Aussie distributor Tuff Kat enters administration
Local Rugby World Cup and Angry Birds distributor Tuff Kat has thrown in the towel. MCV Pacific reports the company has gone into voluntary administration in early March, and may be quietly sent to its rest at a second creditor’s meeting on April 9. No word on how many staff will be affected.

NoA’s Direct Consumer Communications team merging with Redmond office
Nintendo is moving its North America Direct Consumer Communications team from New York City to its Redmond headquarters where it will be merged with its Network Business Department. NoA spokesperson Charlie Scibetta told Kotaku the move will help “provide better digital offerings and services for consumers.” Other Nintendo staff unrelated to DCC will remain in New York in a new, smaller office close to the Nintendo World Store.

Wayforward veterans form Yacht Club Games
Double Dragon Neon director Sean Velasco and five more former members of A Boy and his Blob developer Wayforward have jumped ship – pun intended – to form a new indie studio, Yacht Club Games. The new team has not announced any projects yet but has launched a website and Facebook page and will be at PAX East later this month. The six-man crew has a long list of credits including Contra 4, A Boy and His Blob, Thor: God of Thunder, Mighty Milky Way and BloodRayne Betrayal.

RIFT producer exits for Zynga
RIFT producer Hal Hanlin has left Trion Worlds after four and a half years in order to take on a new role as lead producer at Zynga. “Nothing but love for Trion, but with the maturation of Rift, there was no urgent demand for my specific skillset,” the developer wrote on Facebook.

Tecmo Koei Canada will shut its doors at the of next month, according to a company official speaking with the Financial Post. The Fatal Inertia, Warriors: Legends of Troy and mobile development house is the only studio owned by the firm in North America. GameFly restructuring result in lay-offs
Game rental service and digital distributor GameFly issued a round of lay-offs earlier today. The company explained the cuts as a result of restructuring, but did not give details. Joystiq cites one anonymous source for word that cuts were around one third of total staff, while another put the figure at 35.
