Road Redemption Kickstarter has been funded

With 40 hours left on the clock, DarkSeas Games’ Road Redemption Kickstarter has been funded. The initial funding goal was $160,000, and 3,929 backers funded it with $163,315 in pledges. You can find out more on the game which is currently slated for a PC, Mac and Linux in July, and Wii U some time this year, through the link.

Space Nomads alpha footage fends off an alien assault

The two-person team at Montreal indie Loading Studios is hard at work on Space Nomads, a first-person tower defence game. What sets this one apart from the rapidly-expanding ranks of this one-time niche genre is that it’s co-operative and procedurally generated – oh, and the sweet retro sci-fi aesthetic. A new alpha gameplay video is available through the break, showing off the latest build, and Loading has asked for feedback via its forums.

GTFO: A Film About Women in Gaming, a film by Shannon Sun-Higginson exposing the harassment of women in video games, has met its $20,000 Kickstarter goal. The documentary promises to contain “gamers, bloggers, scholars, developers, and other experts,” discussing and revealing the experiences of women in the gaming world, both good and bad.
