There’s seems to be no stopping the beast that is Tomodachi Collection: New Life on the Media Create charts. Once again, the title was the number one seller in Japan for the week ending May 12. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf continued to be great sellers as well, the former earning life-to-date sales of 691,921 and the later now pushing
over 3.2 million copies across the region.

Ouya has announced it has secured an additional $15 million in new funding along with the appointment of former EA CCO Bing Gordon to the board of directors. The release date has also slipped a bit.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life was once again the top earner in Japan for the week ending May 5. Last weeks’ number one, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen fell to fourth place. Interestingly enough, there were no new releases for the period, yet sales of all hardware offerings were up over last week. Some not by much, but growth is growth.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life continued its dominance of the Media Create charts this week, moving another 144,903 units. Combined with last week when it moved 404,858 units during its debut, the title has moved 549,761 physical units in Japan.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life was the big seller in Japan the week of Apr 15 -21. It moved 404,858 for 3DS, while Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 debuted in second with 87,661 units sold on PS3. 3DS LL sales were up over the prior period by 28,950 units.

Rejoice, UK-based fans of the colour pink. MCV has received word that Nintendo is planning to release the pink version of the 3DS XL in the UK next month. About time too.

Ouya now has over 10,000 registered developers, according to the firm’s head of developer relations, Kellee Santiago. Speaking with Joystiq, she said to expect announcements regarding the console to occur in the next “few weeks.” The latest we’ve heard on the development end, is that Minority Media’s Silent Enemy is in the works for the console, among other high profile development teams.

Nintendo’s Bill Trinen believes 3Ds will “take off” in the US this year, thanks to the amount of titles in the works.

A former SEGA employee has posted shots and information on something called SEGA Pluto, which was SEGA Saturn with internal Netlink. According to a forum poster on Assembler Games called Super Magnetic, Pluto was “the heaviest console,” he’d ever held and it featured: “two controller ports, and on top you have a flip-top drive bay, a cart slot, a Power button, and the venerable Reset button.” The poster notes Pluto may have been the codename for the Saturn console, and only two prototypes of this particular version were created. Those in the market for a new video card may wish to hold out a while, as AMD plans to bundle one of its upcoming cards with Battlefield 4.

During GDC 2013, VG247′s Sam Clay was given hands-on time with Nvidia’s Project Shield, the Tegra-4 powered mobile console announced at CES earlier this year. Even better? The demo featured Skyrim streaming from PC, and looking rather lovely.

Luigi’s Mansion was still the number one title on the Media Create charts for the week, moving 111,000 units extra. Fate/Extra CCC debuted in second place for PSP, moving 73,000 units. On the hardware side of things, Wii and Wii U were the only offerings to show an increase over the prior week with 1,858 and 22,829 units moved, respectively. All other hardware units saw a decline in sales.
