Epic and Applied Research’s Virtual Heroes division launch Unreal Government Network
Epic Games has announced a long-term, multi-platform Unreal Engine 3 reseller and support agreement with Virtual Heroes, a division of Applied Research Associates, Inc. Under this agreement, Virtual Heroes will license UE3 to agencies, departments, and units of the US and allied governments in order to support government developers through the established Unreal Government Network (UGN).

Nintendo confirms acquisition of Paris-based video codec firm MobiClip
Nintendo has announced it acquired Paris-based video codec company MobiClip back in October, a firm which provides video content for Nintendo handhelds. The firm’s tech ensures battery, memory and processor consumption runs at a minimum. Nintendo plans to use MobiClip’s video compression technology for 3DS and Wii U titles, and the teach has previously been used in DS and Game Boy Advance as well as the Professor Layton games.
