Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse: Episode One is now available on PC, Mac and Linux through Steam and for PC and Mac through GOG. It will run you $19.99/£18.99 for the moment for both episodes, not a piece, mind, but in total. After December 11 you will have to pay full price. The game sees the series return to point and click for the first time since Broken Sword 2. Episode 2 will arrive in January and is also slated for release on PS Vita, iOS and Android.

Hairbrained Schemes has announced it and Microsoft have reached an agreement which will allow the firm to release DRM-free versions of Shadowrun Returns. The deal includes DRM-free expansions for the game as well, such as Berlin. Players will be able to download all game patches, use the Shadowrun Returns editor and experience user-generated content downloaded from third-party sites such as Nexus. The team is currently working on getting the game up on GOG.com and will announce its availability in due course. Shadowrun Returns was one of the first major Kickstarter-funded games to be released.

Nordic Games and KING Art have announced the third and final chapter from The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief: A Murder of Ravens, is out now for PC, Mac and Linux. On October 24, all three chapters will be available as a DRM-free boxed version. The chapter can be downloaded through Steam and GoG and the full game can be yours for 20% off. The game is a crime tale set across 1960s Europe and tells both sides of the story, as players adopt the role of the thief and the investigator. It will be made available through PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year. A video is below.

GOG doesn’t plan to offer Linux support for “foreseeable future” due to the system’s architecture and the various “common distributions,” according to GOG’s head of marketing and PR Trevor Longino.

Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller will conclude with the final episode, The Cain Killer, later this month. Upon the release of the finale, the full Cognition series for Mac and PC will arrive on Steam and GOG for the first time. The four episode series has been releasing quarterly since October 2012 and was partially funded by Kickstarter and the Steam release follows a 10-month Greenlight effort which amassed over 25,000 votes from the community. Spelunky will be released on PC through Steam and GoG next month, according to Mossmouth. It’s the XBLA version of the game which was released in July 2012. It will also be made available on the Humble Store as previously announced. The PS3 and Vita versions are in the works at Blit Game Studios, and will also release this summer. Daedalic Entertainment has released a teaser for Memoria, its new point and click adventure game set in Aventuria starring a “spirited princess” named Sadja, who is a warrior seeking “great renown.” She has been lost to the ages, but a “new adventurer will come to retell her epic story as he spins one of his own.” Sounds like there’s a twist in there someplace. Based on the pen and paper game The Dark Eye, the video game adds the magic system, contains various puzzles, and a story full of ancient magic. Memoria is scheduled to be available for PC and Mac by the end of August via Steam and GoG. Trailer and screens are below.

The HD version of Spelunky will be released on PC this summer, according to developer Mossmouth. It’s the XBLA version of the game which was released in July 2012. It will release on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store. The PS3 and Vita versions, which are being handled by Blit Game Studios, will also release this summer. Thanks, Eurogamer.

Fez is now available on Steam, the game’s official website, and GOG for $9.99. Pre-orders for the title on PC went live on April 22. Fez has sold 200,000 copies on Xbox Live since its launch a year ago.
