ERA’s 2011 UK Entertainment reports shows that between its release on November 8 through the end of  2011, Modern Warfare 3 moved 2,814,609 units in the region, a number which falls 451,789 copies short of its predecessor, Black Ops for the same period in 2010, when it moved 3,266,298 copies. The Call of Duty series wasn’t the only franchise to note a slump compared to a previous release, as EA’s FIFA 12 sold 196,929 copies less than FIFA 11, which moved 2,193,302 units for the same period in 2010.  The numbers reflect the downward trend of UK game sales, which were down 13% in 2011 year-over-year. EA Sports has released a new gameplay trailer showing off the gameplay modes available in SSX, along with the reveal of GeoTags. The extreme-sports title is out on February 28 for 360 and PS3.

EA Sports has announced Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector’s Edition will be release in the US on March 27 and worldwide on March 30. The Xbox 360 version features Kinect integration, both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions contain a new swing mechanic as well as social features, Online Country Clubs, and a Collector’s Edition will be released which provides access to the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club. Players will also be able to relive “Woods’ most memorable golf accomplishments as he rises from a child prodigy to golfing legend.” More information is available via the official website.

The US National Arbitration Forum has ruled against EA in a dispute over the SSX.com domain. Domain Name Wire reports the domain was acquired by Abstract Holdings in October, and briefly hosted game advertisements, which EA argued demonstrated bad faith. EA Sports is set to reboot the previously-dormant snowboarding franchise, with the plainly titled SSX hitting PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in late February and early March.

Sony has released ten new videos from its PS Vita showcase event, held at Vita Hill Social Club in San Francisco recently.
