X Rebirth has a video available showing exploration in the space-sim. The main star of the video is the long range scanner, which is demonstrated. This upgrade can detect “even the smallest objects for quite a long distance,” if you have the right upgrade and use it in a skillful manner according to Egosoft. See for yourself below. Game’s out November 15 on PC.

SimCity has a new intro video available for the upcoming Cities of Tomorrow expansion. The content update will include various futuristic transportation and technology options once the player has unlocked relevant research performed by The Academy. City builders will be able to make use of MagLevs, Garbage Atomizers, the Wave Generator and multi-zoned MegaTowers come November 12. The expansion is now available for pre-order.

This weekend’s big sale on GOG is particularly notable because it’s a 60-percent markdown on every Ubisoft game they have, which includes Assassin’s Creed: Director’s Cut, Beyond Good and Evil, Rayman Origins, Splinter Cell, Far Cry 2 and so on. Some names there.

The sequel to Side Meier’s Ace Patrol, dubbed Pacific Skies, was announced last week with no release date, and today it has a two: November 5 on PC and November 7 on iOS. Meaning we have some counterprogramming next week for folks who won’t be getting the new Call of Duty. The World War I flight sim will be available for $5 on PC.

The teaser site has been filled in; the game’s original website has been updated; and a trailer has been released, which you can view through the break. Farming Simulator will be released digitally and in stores on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on November 19 in North America. The game was released on consoles in Europe last month. Developed by Giants Software and published by Focus Home Interactive, Farming Simulator will come with new content including an American backdrop in addition to the European landscape already familiar to PC players. New screenshots are below, and look quite a bit like Indiana or Nebraska – minus the mountains in the background. Maybe it’s Wyoming.

Proteus will be released on PS3 and PS Vita next week on October 29 in North America and in Europe and Australia October 30 through PlayStation Network. The exploration game was released earlier this year for PC. The game will be part of the Cross Buy system for the consoles and will contain the ability to generate in-game islands based on players’ real world locations. These will also effect Proteus’ environment. Brenna got her hands on it earlier this year and liked it very much. Thanks, Eurogamer.
