In response to a comment from a CCP staffer, PCGamesN has put together a petition calling for the release of EVR, the Oculus Rift-enabled dogfighting sim demonstrated at EVE FanFest this year. All signs indicate EVR is nearly as sweet as the throes of first love, so get on that. Check out a trailer for the 6v6 title through the break.

Don’t Starve has arrived on Steam and is 10% off

Dont Starve banner

Klei Entertainement’s survival game Don’t Starve has launched on Steam. I noticed this last night while I was updating a game and having a chat session with a friend about The Hobbit and Game of Thrones. I almost hit the buy button. What I didn’t know though, was that the game will come with “six months of free post-release content.” Thanks to Eurogamer for enlightening me on the matter. The game is currently on sale for 10% off, and from all accounts it, sounds like a fun time. I may pick it up after all. Check it out yourself through the links.

Monaco Xbox Live Arcade release delayed

monaco

Much anticipated heist-sim Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine arrives on Steam today, but the Xbox Live Arcade version has been pushed back. An update to the game’s Facebook page explains that Pocketwatch discovered a last minute “issue” – but don’t worry, it’s already found a solution and submitted it to Microsoft, so once the update has been certified it should be good to go. Monaco won an IGF award three years ago and we’ve been (im)patiently awaiting it since then.

Thanks, Shack News.

The list of issues is rather large, and can be found the SimCity Subreddit and the EA Forums. Thanks, PCgamesN.

Surgeon Simulator 2013 lands on Steam for 30% off

surgsimu

Wanna-be surgeons should head over to Steam and try their hand at Surgeon Simulator 2013. At present, the game is 30% off until April 22, so until then you can grab it for $6.99 instead of $9.99. Looking over the video for it, it appears to be a game in which you can torture patients at will – all in hilariously, diabolical ways of course. Since landing on Steam Greenlight, the game has been given more environments, and new operations. Check it out through the link and watch the video below.

SimCity is cross-play enabled

20130320_simcity

The Mac and PC versions of SimCity are multiplayer compatible, according to PCGamesN. Since anybody who owns the PC version will also have free access to a Mac copy, this means you can merrily migrate your account back and forth between the two platforms, which just goes to show there’s at least one upside to this always-on cloud stuff. The Mac version is due on June 11.
