Rock Band songs downloaded 130 million times, Led Zeppelin proof of concept shown at PAX

Rock Band’s last DLC track will be Don McLean’s American Pie
Harmonix named Don McLean’s American Pie will be the last track added to the Rock Band library, on April 2. Harmonix announced the swansong at its PAX East party today, as reported by Polygon. The developer announced its intention to cease releasing new DLC last month, and after 275 weeks and more than 4,000 tracks, it’s hard to complain.

Dropchord trailer shows how Double Fine approaches the Leap

Rock Band 3′s next DLC contains Shinedown, Tears for Fears, Kool & the Gang
Rock Band 3 tracks for next week have been announced, and those in the mood for some “Jungle Boogie,” can download the popular disco hit from Kool & the Gang along with Shinedown’s “Diamond Eyes (Boom-Lay Boom-Lay Boom),” and Tears for Fears’ preeminent 80s hit, “Shout.” Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade will be available for the Kool & the Gang Track. Each song will run you the usual and will be made available Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3 March 19. PSn users in Europe will get the tracks March 20.

HarmoKnight hits eShop in Europe at end of March, demo out March 21
HarmoKnight will release in Europe for 3DS at the end of the month. The rhythm platformer from Pokémon developer GameFreak, currently has a demo available through the NA eShop, and the game will be released in both regions through the eShop on March 28. The demo will be made available in Europe on March 21 (thanks, Gamesta).

Rock Band 3 DLC next week consists of Oingo Boingo and Toto tracks
Rock Band 3 DLC next week will consists of two tracks: Oingo Boingo’s “Weird Science”, and Toto’s “Rosanna”. The tracks will run you the usual, and will be available on PS3, Wii, and Xbox 360 March 12. European PS3 users will get the tracks the following day, March. Double Fine announced Leap-compatible Dropchord
Double Fine has announced a new rhythm action game called Dropchord. IGN reports the title will be available on iOS and PC, and the latter will be compatible with the Leap Motion Controller, allowing for Kinect-like controls. Dropchord is due later this year and will be on show at SxSW and PAX East, at the Leap booth.

Hatsune Miku post gauges demand for localised release
Sega is testing the waters regarding the possibility of bringing Hatsune Miku games to the west. The publisher has asked fans to Like and share a Facebook post if they’re interested in seeing the vocaloid’s adventures localised, and told PocketGamer that it has no firm plans but is “gauging fan interest” for Hatsune Miku Project Diva F, the latest PlayStation 3 and Vita rhythm action offering. Hatsuke Minu is the most popular mascot of Vocaloid, a singing voice synthesizer represented by various animated characters called vocaloids. She’s widely used in advertisements, has her own albums, and even goes on tour.
