1001 Spikes is a “cruel” and challenging platformer from Nicalis hitting Vita this year
Nicalis has announced 1001 Spikes and its coming to Vita this year. The team used Spelunker and Challenger as inspirations, but don’t let the retro 8-bit art style fool you: this will be an “incredibly difficult platformer with very precise controls requiring pixel-perfect inputs,” according to the developer.

Fez 2 announced at Horizon Indie Game Conference
Fez 2 is in development at Polytron, according to an announcement made at the end of the Horizon Indie Game Conference at E3. While Phil Fish wasn’t there to make the announcement, the logo for the in-development title was shown, according to our newshound on the round Catherine Cai. No other details were provided, but once we know more, we will be sure to pass it along. You can watch the teaser shown below.

Far Cry Classic, Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons coming to XBL Summer of Arcade program
Far Cry Classic will be available as part of the Summer of Arcade program on Xbox Live. A date wasn’t added in the press release, but it’s the original single-player game. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons will also be part of the program. Far Cry will run you 560 MSP, and Borthers $15.00/1200 MSP. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Flashback, and Charlie Murder will also be included. It all kicks off August 7 so expect more titles to be announced. A video is below.

Rayman Legends has over 120 levels
Ubisoft showed a new trailer for Rayman Legends at E3 2013, showing off a variety of environments, from jungles to lava pits to grim caves to lazer fields to what looked like worlds made of edible substances, as well as boss encounters, traps and musical maps. You can check it out below. It’s the biggest Rayman ever, with 120 levels – possibly thanks to its long-delayed release.

Contra: Shattered Soldier coming to US PS Store this week
Side-scrolling PS2 classic Contra: Shattered Soldier will release in this week’s North American PlayStation Store update. According to the PlayStation Blog, two-player co-op has survived the port although it’s not clear whether there’ll be online support in addition to local play. Other new releases this week include Pirates: Legend of the Black Buccaneer and a demo for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F.

SEGA announces E3 2013 line-up
SEGA has announced its E3 line-up, and the firm is bringing five titles to the expo next week. SEGA’s full line-up includes: Sonic Lost World (Wii U, 3DS) out this Holiday; Castle of Illusion (PC, PSN, XBLA) out this summer; Company of Heroes 2 (PC); Total War: Rome 2 (PC); and The Cave (mobile). This will be the first publish showing of both the new Sonic title and the mobile version of Double Fine’s The Cave.
