SEGA has announced that Total War: Rome 2 is the fastest pre-ordered Total War game to date, with over six times the number of pre-orders its first official week compared to Shogun 2. The Collector’s Edition has also pre-ordered well, with over half the available copies already sold out in the US. The firm also said Total War sales hit 2 million last year “without a major release,” to support the series. Those who pre-order the strategy title get the first DLC, The Greek States Culture Pack, free on the day of release. Rome 2 is out September 3.

Insomniac Games has announced that Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault will arrive on PSN for Vita next week. It will come with Deadlocked HD as a bonus.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be released on PC, according to Hideo Kojima speaking during his HideRadio podcast. Platinum Games creative producer Jean Pierre Kellams also confirmed the news on Twitter. The original Sonic the Hedgehog is now available on Google Play for Android devices, priced at $3. This isn’t just a quick and dirty port, either, but a Retro-Engine remake from fan turned pro Christian “The Taxman” Whitehead. It boasts widescreen support at 60FPS, a remastered soundtrack, leaderboards, achievements, Time Attack mode, and playable Knuckles and Tails. The iOS version has been updated to add in these extra features, too.
