Hisashi Koinuma, Tecmo Koei’s executive vice president and go-to-guy for Dynasty Warriors raised the possibility of an open-world or RPG based Warriors game on the new consoles, with a “focus” on making the game “more realistic”, using more varied terrain and strategy. Namco Bandai’s free to play SoulCalibur: Lost Swords will have a four day ‘closed’ beta, starting a week from today. To get into the beta, all you’ll have to do is log onto the PlayStation Network and download the game’s four gigabyte client after the 14th and you’ll be able to mash it out with series stalwarts Siegfried, Mitsurugi and Sophitia. The game’s Quest and Creation modes will be available, alongside its microtransaction shop, where everything will be free of charge.

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma will be released in North America during March 2014, Aksys Games and Arc System Works have announced. The 2D fighting game will also be made available in a Limited Edition, which is now available for pre-order at retail outlets for $79.99. The BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Limited Edition will include a 40-page art book, official soundtrack CD, and small figurine of Rachel Alucard as well as “two North American exclusive” mystery items. The brawler was released on PS3 in Japan back in October.

Legend of Raven, the enhanced PlayStation Vita port of Attack on Yatagarasu and not the recently IndieGoGo’d Yatagarasu Attack on Cataclysm for PC, is now coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime next year. The PlayStation Blog has a two week fighting game sale on the PlayStation Network in the US, with Vita games such as Mortal Kombat, Dead or Alive 5 Plus and ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM 3 being reduced to almost half price. Half the games will be on sale from Nov. 5 until the 11th while the rest are discounted from the 12th to the 18th. Check out a full list below.

Quick one here, Namco Bandai’s UK Twitter has announced the release date of SoulCalibur II HD Online to be November 20, which I think is a good, quiet week for a smaller downloadable title. Nothing to compete with. Which is good because if there was say, a new console or two launching on the same week would be madness for Namco. The game’s set to cost $20, €19 and about £15.
