Warner Bros. is working to bring endless runner Temple Run to the big screen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. is in negotiations with Harry Potter producer David Heyman, and plans for a story of demonic forces on the tail of an idol thief. Imangi Studios’ casual app is one of the most popular games on the App Store, and has produced a sequel as well as licensed spin-off Oz the Great and Powerful.

To celebrate the 18th anniversary of You Don’t Know Jack’s release, developer Jackbox Games has fixed up almost the entire series to run on modern computers and released them on Steam. This includes the first six volumes of the series, alongside the special movies, sports and television titles.

Remember Wonderbook? If perchance its previous Book of Spells reminded you that you’re young at heart, there’s three more Wonderbooks on the way, including another Harry Potter: Book of Potions. Alongside the recipe book, there will also be a Wonderbook version of the BBC Documentary Walking with Dinosaurs and a kids detective story called Diggs Nightcrawler which was announced sometime last year and then disappeared mysteriously into Europe.

A popular refrain we’re been hearing in tech and games circles is that consoles are sunsetting and mobile devices will be taking over the gaming scene in a few years. While not directly taking issue with that assertion, Qualcomm’s Mike Yuen did say mobile devices will never have the full power of a current-gen dedicated console.

Thanks in no small part to mobile phenomenon Puzzles & Dragons, GungHo has a pretty absurd operating profit margin — 57 percent or so this past quarter. But with revenue and profits down 5 percent and 12 percent, respectively, quarter over quarter, the companies price fell sharply this week.

Angry Birds: Star Wars has released for 3DS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Rovio effort includes 20 console-exclusive levels in addition to the 200 levels from the mobile version, as well as co-op and competitive multiplayer, as well as achievements and trophies, leader boards, and even Kinect support. Despite all the complicated licensing, it comes courtesy of Activision, which provided the screenshots you can check out below the break. We’re also expecting it on PS4 and Xbox One, eventually.

Plants vs Zombies 2 has launched on Android, slightly more than two months after it launched on iOS. The new release requires an Android 2.3 device or higher, with a gigabyte of RAM and an ARMv7 or higher running at 1GHZ.
