Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances launches worldwide

EA has announced the end of beta for Command & Conquer: Tiberium Alliances, its browser-based, MMO-strategy game, and its the game is now officially live worldwide, in several languages. You can play it here. This is just one C&C game coming from EA, as Command & Conquer Generals 2, which uses the Frostbite 2 game engine, is also in development. Angry Birds Heikki teased for June 18 reveal

Rovio’s teasing something the next Angry Birds release, this time tied in with Finnish Formula One driver Heikki Kovalainen. No other details are in the public domain on what it’ll entail, though. PocketGamer reckons this’ll be a web browser affair only, with no plans for an iOS and Android release.

EA shutting down Dragon Age Legends in June

EA has announced it’s to shut down Dragon Age Legends next month. The firm said it will offer a free downloadable version of the game for users who want to play the title with out multiplayer. EA didn’t provide a reason for pulling the title, but during GDC Online 2011, BioWare’s Ethan Levy said the browser game failed to meet EA’s expectations. The free-to-play, social RPG debuted in March 2011 to coincide with the release of Dragon Age II. Thanks, Gamasutra.

U4iA Games – CoD vets announce Offensive Combat as first title

New Cave strategy game called Gun Blood Days

Cave’s teased its new browser strategy title, calling it Gun Blood Days. The company opened a teaser site for the game, explaining the game’s backstory, which sees it take place in a futuristic Japanese Civil War in 2025. The player will get to fight in one of three factions: the Japanese Liberation Front, American task force Saber and the militant force Orthos.

Settlers Online starter pack available at retail March 29

Ubisoft has announced a retail starter pack for The Settlers Online will be available at retail on March 29. The starter pack for the free-to-play, browser-based title set in the Settlers Universe will include 2500 gems of in-game currency, buildings with infinite resources, and an exclusive general to lead your armies. For Easter, an all-new in-game event starts the same day, which will bring with it new “quests, adventures, special buildings, a new general and a Raving Rabbid statue.” During the event, players will need to search for Easter Eggs, the event currency, which will allow them to purchase in-game items. In the UK, the Starter Pack will run you £11.99 exclusively from the Ubishop.

Capcom announces Onimusha return with social game Soul

Capcom’s announced the return of Onimusha, but not in the way you’d like. The series will return as a Japanese browser-based social game called Onimusha Soul. Soul will be a Sengoku-era strategy RPG that will feature characters from past games in the series, with players controlling of a feudal lord in a region currently at war.

The last big Onimusha console title was Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams in 2006. More details are on Andriasang.
