The Simpsons Arcade Game coming to XBLA tomorrow

simpsons

Konami’s confirmed to Game Informer it’s to release The Simpsons Arcade Game onto Xbox Live Arcade tomorrow, February 2. This is probably why it was delayed for PS Plus members in the EU Store update yesterday. Also, if our memory is correct, this is the first time an XBLA game will launch outside its typical Wednesday slot. It’ll set you back 800 MS points or $9.99, and will feature four-player co-op, bonus content and even a Japanese version of the game that’s not been seen before.

99Seconds available on eShop and DSiware

99seconds

EnjoyUp Games has announced the retro-styled 99Seconds for DSiWare and the 3DS eShop service. The game allows the player to modify time to avoid danger. After finishing off Black Eye in 99Bullets, V-99 entered “a mysterious zone” called Bit 8 inhabited by Black Vectors hellbent, apparently, on destroying anything entering their domicile. The concept of 99Seconds is to survive using SlowDown to control time and avoid the enemies. Blue Energies will appear during the game providing the player with extra time. When the time reaches zero, the SlowDown power disappears, and if hit, the player will be defeated.

Quick Quotes – Dishwasher dev’s new game explores skin melting

20120109charliemurder

“Charlie Murder did something weird, if not entirely unexpected, in development. Now there’s wall-spike impalement, melting skin, dual-wielding severed arms, curb-stomp executions – it’s a huge departure from the original version I planned for XBLIG, and I’m loving how it’s turning out. Turns out melting skin off isn’t just entertaining, but adds a whole new dimension of gameplay!”

– Ska Studios’ James Silva, creator of Dishwasher: Dead Samurai and I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1NIT!!!1 on his upcoming four-player brawler Charlie Murder, speaking with Joystiq.
