Nvidia and Wargaming.net have teamed up for the GeForce eSports World of Tanks 3v3 Tournament Amateur Division. The 128 team tournament offers a prize pool of 1 million in-game gold, and the two companies will pony up $5,000 cash which will be donated to veteran’s charities with an additional $5,000 garnered from registration fees, in-game gold and PC hardware. The Major League Gaming Championship in Columbus, Ohio this November will feature Dota 2 teams competing live in a three day event for a $50,000 prize pool. Ghost Recon Online is joining the eSpots line-up thanks to a partnership between the ESL and Ubisoft. A seven-week series of matches will begin in both Europe and the US September 16 with the top four teams earning a spot in the continental Final Playoffs. Teams must consist of anywhere between six and 20 players in order to battle it out for the €5,000 cash prize. Aaron “ACE” Elam was the $200,000 grad prize winner of the Halo 4 Global Championships at PAX last weekend. Elam won the final tie-breaker match over Justin “iGotUrPistola” Deese at 343 Industries sponsored event. “This means everything to me,” Elam told Gamespot. “I’ve been playing Halo since I was nine years old, and I have to say, the games against Deese were the most intense games of Halo in my entire life. I just can’t believe this. I feel like I’m dreaming.” 343 boss Frank O’Connor said he was pleased with how the championships played out and is “excited about the future of Halo in the competitive scene,” and that the firm “can’t wait to do something even cooler in the future.”

Red Bull will host a StarCraft 2 Battle Grounds tournament in New York this November, where eight players will battle it out for $50,000 in prizes. It all happens November 23-24 at the Hammerstein Ballroom at the Manhattan Center – which just so happens to be the place Sony unveiled its PS4 to the press.
