Rocksmith 2014 Edition has some new DLC available and its a five pack from Iron Maiden. Each song will run you $2.99 each or you can buy the entire pack for $11.99. The songs available are: 2 Minutes To Midnight, Aces High, Fear of the Dark, The Number of the Beast, and Run to the Hills. The pack is available on Mac, PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Video is below.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition is out today in North America and in the UK on October 25th, so Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for it. The educational game comes with a redesigned interface, as well as the addition of all-new features, techniques, tunings and modes allowing you to learn to play in just 60 days. I’ll find out if that is the case this Christmas when I get it. I may even vlog it. Who knows. To further extend the game, DLC songs and packs are planned with the first batch out now. Rocksmith 2014 Edition will contain 55 songs ranging from the latest hits to classic rock songs, and today, Ubisoft has announced 10 more tracks including Everlong by Foo Fighters and Every Breath You Take by The Police.

Rocksmith 2014 has a new video available detailing Session Mode, which allows the player to lead an artificially intelligent band that plays along with them. The virtual band, which can be customized through over 70 different Session Mode instruments, reacts to the player’s riffing prowess dynamically. Since it is an advanced feature set, players can get themselves up to the task by going through various missions. Experts can “jump right in and play along the entire guitar neck by zooming out.” Session Mode is also available in multiplayer mode, so two players can jam side-by-side. Rocksmith 2014 Edition will hit shelves on October 18 in in North America and October 25 in the UK on Mac, PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Rocksmith 2014 contains a mode for those with colorblindness, Ubisoft has announced. According to producer Taylor Benson, who is also colorblind, adjusted hues will allow those with the malady to learn just as easily to strum the six-string as those who can see color. Rocksmith 2014 has a new video available which shows how the 80 lessons in the game will work. It’t not all about riffing: you’ll learn how to hold a pick, tune your guitar, and more advanced techniques such as pinch harmonics and tapping. Each provides instant feedback based on how you played the songs as well. Check out the video below. Rocksmith 2014 Edition was announced E3 2013 and is slated for release on October 18.

PS4 development kits will be made available to educators through the PlayStation First Academic Programme starting tomorrow. Educators at Universities interested in the kits will need to seek out an Expression of Interest application through email. Kits for both the new console and Vita are available, and Sony feels educators will be able to use both in innovative ways in the classroom.
