Project Ascender is in development for PS4 and PC, and it’s from Duke Nukem creator and co-founder of 3D Realms, Scott Miller and Rise of the Triad developer Interceptor Entertainment. The project was spotted on Interceptor CEO Frederik Schreiber’s LinkedIn profile. The game has apparently been in development since September and has 19 staffer members working on it. Bohemia Interactive has announced a €500,000 Make Arma Not War content creation contest for Arma 3. Cash prizes range from €20,000 to €200,000, and are spread across four different categories: Total Modification, Singleplayer Game Mode, Multiplayer Game Mode, and Addon.

Microsoft has revealed a list of developers which are part of Xbox One’s indie development program ID@Xbox. The firm has also dropped its “requirement” that the games remain exclusive or timed-exclusives to Xbox One.

Survarium, the free-to-play PC MMOFPS from Vostok Games will transition into closed beta “within a week or two,” the firm has told Eurogamer. Invites will be sent out to the international community at that time, and you can sign up for the tester here. The game will launch in the UK during the second half of 2014. The Shenmue 3 trademark which popped up this week has turned out to be a hoax, according to CVG. The application was filed with the Office of Harmonization for the Internal Market (OHIM), and after being examined by officials it was discarded. The OHIM discarded the Fallout 4 trademark filed last week, as it did with the Half-Life 3 application in October.

Yu Suzuki will provide a Classic Game Postmortem on his Dreamcast game Shenmue during GDC 2014. The talk will be translated by Mark Cerny, who you know as the game designer of Knack and lead system architect for PlayStation 4. This will be Suzuki’s first time discussing the creation Shenmue at an event, GDC organizers said. The talk will start from the game’sorigin as a Virtua Fighter-based RPG on Sega Saturn, leading up to the game’s release on Dreamcast in 1999. GDC 2014 takes place March 17-21.

Uncharted 4 has been teased on Twitter by Todd Stashwick, the voice you hear in the teaser trailer released earlier this month. All Stashwick has teased are motion capture photos of himself and a dummy. You can view those through his feed. The PlayStation 4 title is being written once again by creative director Amy Hennig and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception’s director, Justin Richmond is working on it as well. Drake actor Nolan North has been unusually quiet regarding the project, but we expect to possibly hear more about the game during VGX next month. Thanks, IGN.

Garry’s Mod has sold over 3.5 million copies, doubling in sales each year since its release in 2004. According to figures obtained by RPS, this past July was the game’s best in sales.
