Skyrim: Legendary Edition has been spotted at Ultima, a Polish retailer and is down for a June 7 release, according to a Eurogamer Poland report. According to the retailer, the pack will contain Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn DLC packs for PS3 and Xbox 360 for around £35/$54 with the PC version said to run £29/$44. While Bethesda has not announced such a SKU yet, it would not be uncommon for the firm, as it has released bundles for its Fallout and Elder Scrolls series in the past. CD Projekt has confirmed to GI that it is to be acquired by Polish tech firm Optimus, should the deal be approved, allowing for “the two companies effectively swap shares in each others business” on the Warsaw Stack Exchange.

“In short this is kind of share swap between Polish stock company Optimus SA and CD Projekt Investment, which is the holding company owner of CDP Publishing, CDP Red, GOG.com, Metro and Porting House,” said Karol Zajaczkowski, marketing director at CDP Red. “In the final effect of that swap shareholders of CDP Investment will be the owners of Optimus SA. Optimus is a stock market company so in fact CDP will go public and have access to all stock instruments.

“Finally this means money for future development of the whole company. Basically this is very good information for CDP.”

Witcher developer CD Projekt is to be bought by a Polish tech firm, Optimus.

That’s according to a report on Polygamia (via GI), who claim the takeover is to switch the developer from being privately owned into a publicly traded business on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The move is expected to be made with stock only, while the developer’s owners will become primary shareholders. An official announcement is due soon.

EA’s signed a new Epic IP, currently under development at the firm’s People Can Fly studio in Poland.

“Epic is excited to work with EA Partners to launch our next big IP on the global stage,” said Epic boss Mark Rein. “EA Partners gives independent developers like Epic the muscle of a global publisher like EA, along with the focus and flexibility of a smaller team committed to working with our individual needs.”

There’s little detail on the game in the announcement, other than it’s an action title and will release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. There’s no date on it.

There was a story knocking around yesterday saying UK retailer Tesco was going to start selling GTA IV on April 25 – see it on PlayStation Beyond – and the theme seems to be catching: this piece on Grrr.pl reckons the game’s going to launch in Poland on the same date.

You lucky Poles. If that Tesco thing turns out to be bollocks, just get yourself over to Warsaw for the day next week. It’s supposed to be pretty this time of year.

According to this, CD Projekt has acquired a controlling stake in fellow Polish developer Metropolis.

With the inclusion of the Metropolis team and splitting the existing CD Projekt studio into two, the company is now working on three projects. CD Projekt is most famous for The Witcher, the PC RPG which recently announced sales of 600,000 in three months.

“I’m very happy that we managed to combine the strengths of two key development teams in Poland. Metropolis and CD Projekt have many values in common: we believe that the success of our products depends on innovative character and atmosphere, as well as uncompromising care of the highest quality,” said CD Projekt CEO Michal Kicinski in a statement.
