Kickstarter has added a subdomain labelled Australia, promising that the crowdfunding platform will be opened to Australia and New Zealand “in the very near future”. The platform is hosting two events in early September to educate potential creators (or just interested backers), and is offering email updates to those keen to get in on the action. Kickstarter began as a US-only scheme but soon extended to the UK and as of next month, Canada. In the past, Australian creators had to have access to a bank account in one of these territories to use the service.

The Walking Dead has finally made it to consoles in a couple of patient territories – Australia, Brazil and New Zealand. Although TellTale released the game locally on iOS, Mac and PC, the console versions were put on hold over classification concerns, which, as it happens, may have been misplaced, as Australian officials elected to go with an MA15+ rating rather than the shiny new R18+ sticker. In any case, the episodic adventure is available in full on PlayStation 3 in all three territories and on Xbox 360 in Australia and New Zealand.

Nintendo Australia has announced its getting in on Meloetta madness. The local arm of Nintendo has confirmed Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 will release in Australia and New Zealand on October 11. The DS titles are playable on 3DS, and will be supported by Pokémon Dream Radar, a 3DS eShop release of the same date allowing players to collect Pokémon for transfer to the core game. The RPG sequels have already sold 2.3 million units in Japan and arrive in the US on October 7 and in Europe on October 12.
