KGRB posts rating application for Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013

DotPW2012

Siliconera has dug up a Korea’s Game Rating Board rating for Magic: The Gathering – Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2013, which was filed by Microsoft Korea. Wizards of the Coast hasn’t officially announced a sequel to Duels Of The Planeswalkers 2012, but still, the information is there for your consideration anyway. The site points out that while the listing may have been filed under Microsoft, it doesn’t mean it will be an Xbox 360 exclusive. Last year’s version was also released on PS3 and Steam alongside the 360 version.

Report – South Korea to block 3 hour+ online time for minors

south korea

The South Korean Ministry of Education, Science and Technology is currently look at an act that would ban online accounts of minors that spend two hours consecutively or three or more hours in a day on online games, according to Gamasutra. The new policy follows the introduction of a similar bill two years ago in the country, where a curfew would be in effect for under-18s playing online games from 10pm in the evening until 8am the next day. An unnamed Korean games industry rep has said on the new act the government should “discuss it and provide guidelines to instruct us.”

Korean Game Rating Board gives Diablo III a rating, can be released in South Korea

diabloIII2

South Korea has finally given Diablo III a rating, which will see the game release in the country, rated for those 18-and-up. The RPG’s certification was put on hold earlier in the month, due to concerns raised by the Korean Game Rating Board over the title’s auction house feature. However, in order to get the game passed in the country, Blizzard has to removed the RMT auction house for the Korean version. Still no date, but this is still good news for South Korean gamers. Thanks, Shack.

Limbo PS3 rated by Korean Ratings Board

limbohanging

The Korean Ratings Board has rated a PS3 version of 2010 indie love-in Limbo. Sony Computer Entertainment Korea is the one who mate the listing. Previously released on Xbox Live Arcade last summer, developer Playdead had said it was working on a new IP, but insisted that Limbo was an “exclusive for life” on XBLA. Then again, so was Braid and Castle Crashers and look what happened. Just saying.

We’ll email Playdead. Thanks, GSW.
