Nintendo financials fall 50% short of target, ¥7 billion profit in 2012
Nintendo has posted full-year profits of ¥7 billion for 2012, which is half of the company’s ¥14 billion projection. Regardless, this is an improvement over last year’s loss of ¥43.2 billion. The projection slump has been attributed to weak global sales of both Wii U and 3DS .

3DS app allows users to share screengrabs via social networks in Japan
Nintendo has announced it plans to release an app in Japan for 3DS which will allow users capture screenshots from select game titles. Users can then share the screencaps through Tumblr and Twitter. The app will be available for Tomodachi Collection and Animal Crossing: New Leaf to start with, and likely other titles will be implemented should it take off. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team 3DS LL bundle announced for Japan
A Luigi themed Nintendo 3DS LL will be released in Japan, pre-loaded with Mario and Luigi: Dream Team, it was announced today during Nintendo Direct Japan. The white handheld releases on June 18 and contains little green silhouettes of Luigi. It’s rather adorable, but then again, so is the Animal Crossing: New Leaf Hardware Bundle out June 11 in US, June 14 in the UK. Thanks, D’toid.

It is okay to be envious. Japanese Club Nintendo members are getting a pretty sweet Gold and Platinum level reward – a 3DS dungeon crawler called Nintendoji.
