Nintendo offering real gold coins to Mario Bros millionaires
The German arm of Nintendo is offering to fork out real gold coins worth over €220 to commemorate the brave collection skills of New Super Mario Bros 2 fans. My hazy understanding of this auto-translated press release suggests you need to send in a photo of your 3DS screen proving you’ve hit 1 million coins to collect on the offer. The competition seems to be only open to German residents, and was supposed to end on October 31, but has been extended through December.
Thanks, GoNintendo.

Gears of War 3 to go on sale uncut in Germany
The BPJM has confirmed it’s to let Gears of War 3 release in Germany without any content cut from the game. The first two games were not available to buy in the country, with PEGI versions banned from going on sale. The BPJM, who had banned Gears 1 and 2 from Germany, said it had no “relevance for a ban” with 3. Germany’s seen as very strict on violent games, so this is a big win.
More over at Eurogamer. Game’s out in September for Xbox 360.
