BioShock Infinite has rocketed to the top of the UK charts, trouncing the rest of the pack and netting 9000 more sales in its first week than BioShock 2.

Black Ops 2 and Minecraft 360 most popular titles on latest XBL Activity Charts
Major Nelson has released the Xbox Live Activity charts for the week of March 4, and as usual, Black Ops 2 was the one to beat. It wasn’t though, and the runner up was the equally unstoppable Mincraft Xbox 360 Edition. The full charts are below.

Project Diva F, Soul Sacrifice and Vita dominate Media Create charts
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F and Soul Sacrifice took the top spots in the Media Create charts for the period of March 4-10, with the former moving 110,229 units on PS3 and Comcept’s debut moving 92,396 units on Vita. The handheld also took the top spot on the hardware charts, thanks to last month’s price drop. While sales were only up 1,038 units over the week prior, it still moved 63,581 units which is considerably better than its recent sales history.

Black Ops 2 & FIFA 13 beat Dark Knight Rises as top UK entertainment releases
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and FIFA 13 outsold The Dark Knight Rises in 2012, placing at the top of the UK’s entertainment top 40 sales chart, the Entertainment Retailers Association has revealed.

MGR: Revengeance tops in Japan, Vita outsells Wii U
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was the clear winner on the Media Create charts in Japan, moving 308,681 units on PS3. 3DS sales were down, but both models still maintained the numer one and two spots on the hardware chart. PS3 took third place with an uptick in sales, moving 18,529 units compared to 16,934 the week prior, likely this can be attributed to the release of MGR: Revengeance. Vita sales were also up over the week prior to 11,456 compared to the 8,044 units sold the prior period. It’s unclear when looking at the top 20 what caused the surge in sales, but the handheld outsold Wii U for the first time. Full charts are below.

NPD January: Xbox 360 moves 281,00 units – report puts Wii U sales at 57,000
Xbox 360 moved 281,000 units in January, according to an NPD report from the firm. While Nintendo didn’t send out its usual NPD sales figures last night like Microsoft did, a CNET report indicates the new console didn’t fair too well for the month.

Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden, Nintendo titles dominate charts in Japan
The debut of Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden in Japan has knocked Animal Crossing: New Leaf off it’s comfy perch, by moving 872,922 units on 3DS. The square title also helped 3DS and 3DS LL sales jump quite significantly over last week’s figures. Out of the top 20 on the Media Create charts, all but seven titles were for Nintendo platforms. Wii U accounted for 1.6% of total UK software sales in January
Wii U software isn’t selling well according to data that spilled on to the internet last week. Fresh reports released today back up the numbers, placing software sales on Nintendo’s console at just 1.6% of overall UK sales.
