There’s seems to be no stopping the beast that is Tomodachi Collection: New Life on the Media Create charts. Once again, the title was the number one seller in Japan for the week ending May 12. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon and Animal Crossing: New Leaf continued to be great sellers as well, the former earning life-to-date sales of 691,921 and the later now pushing
over 3.2 million copies across the region.

Dead Island: Riptide has claimed the top pot of the UK charts for a third week running, although its sales figures have tumbled some 55% since it launched.

Sony has released the April 2013 PSN Top Sellers charts for both the US and UK, and Guacamelee! topped the US combined charts and the PSN chart in Europe.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life was once again the top earner in Japan for the week ending May 5. Last weeks’ number one, Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen fell to fourth place. Interestingly enough, there were no new releases for the period, yet sales of all hardware offerings were up over last week. Some not by much, but growth is growth.

Dead Island: Riptide has held firm at the top of the UK game top 40 for a second week running. Techland’s zombie-basher might feel like an expansion to the original, but that’s not stopping the nation from getting stuck in.

I know I said this last time but this week’s Xbox Live Activity charts are deathly boring, with members continuing to play the same handful of games. Things are only enlivened by a few new Arcade releases.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life continued its dominance of the Media Create charts this week, moving another 144,903 units. Combined with last week when it moved 404,858 units during its debut, the title has moved 549,761 physical units in Japan.

Tomodachi Collection: New Life was the big seller in Japan the week of Apr 15 -21. It moved 404,858 for 3DS, while Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 debuted in second with 87,661 units sold on PS3. 3DS LL sales were up over the prior period by 28,950 units.

BioShock Infinite has been denied a fourth week at number one by NetherRealm’s superhero brawler, Injustice: Gods Among Us, which has hit the top spot in this week’s UK chart.

Tomb Raider and BioShock Infinite were the best-selling boxed games across the UK in March, and helped physical sales in Britain jump over previous months.

Sony has revealed PlayStation Store sales charts for the US for March, showing some discrepancies between regions. In North America, MLB 13 the Show topped the PS3 charts, while Tomb Raider came in much lower than in international territories. As Kotaku points out, Atelier Totori Plus: The Adventurer of Arland topped the NA Vita despite having almost no marketing support, which is certainly interesting. Square Enix is in the middle of a shake-up – what with a new CEO and lay-offs in Los Angeles, and now comes word that Dragon Quest X on Wii U didn’t fare to well during its debut week.

Luigi’s Mansion was still the number one title on the Media Create charts for the week, moving 111,000 units extra. Fate/Extra CCC debuted in second place for PSP, moving 73,000 units. On the hardware side of things, Wii and Wii U were the only offerings to show an increase over the prior week with 1,858 and 22,829 units moved, respectively. All other hardware units saw a decline in sales.
