Plants vs Zombies trading cards are on sale at 20% off until November 30, with all proceeds donated to an unnamed charity. Polygon reports you can grab the cards for $79.20 from PopCap’s online store; each box contains 24 packs of seven cards. You’ll get all sixty unique cards in a full box, and PopCap will throw in a signed card or a sketch from original PvZ artist Rich Werner, the game’s original artist, during the sale.

Team Meat co-founder Aubrey Hesselgren will release a playable prototype of “Super Meat Boy Galaxy”, a 3D platformer starring everyone’s favourite flesh gobbet, if gamers can donate a substantial fund to charity.

The annual Desert Bus for Hope marathon, which has a troop of staunch soldiers playing the worst video game ever made for days on end to raise money for Child’s Play, is now taking donations. The more you give, the longer the poor players have to stick with the famously boring sim. With ten days till the event kicks off, gamers have already secured 74 hours of utter mind-numbing torture with more than $2,000 donated. Make someone miserable and earn good karma by throwing a dollar in the hat here.

Moustaches at the ready, EA Sports has pledged $500,000 worth of in-game ad space to the Movember charity, which encourages people to either grow a moustache – or wear a fake one – for the whole month of November.

The Entertainment Software Association raised $822,000 at its Nite to Unite event this year, Destructoid reports. The annual black tie charity gala is in its 15th year and has raised over $12 million since launch. Beneficiaries for 2013 include the Federation of American Scientists, Parents’ Choice Foundation, Smithsonian American Art Museum and ThanksUSA. The event is mainly attended by industry insiders; Gabe Newell was inducted into its honouree ranks this year.

Humble Bundle 6 has come to a close, netting over $2 million in indie game sales, and most importantly a great sum of cash for the Child’s Play charity. Pat yourself on the back if you spent money on it. Go on, you deserve it.

In an admirably amusing nod to the competition. Trion Worlds has announced a new pre-order incentive for RIFT’s upcoming expansion, Storm Legion. As detailed on the MMORPG’s blog, all pre-orders through StormLegion.com between September 26 and October 3 will trigger a $1 donation to Pandas International. Xbox Live is free this weekend for everyone as part of Microsoft’s Gaming and Giving for Good Charity Event. Over the weekend, Xbox 360 users can play their games and raise money for their local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. You can sign up to participate and gather donations from friends and family through here. The more you play, the more will be given.

NCsoft, ArenaNet and Indigo Pearl will sponsor a cycle ride from Cologne to Brighton with proceeds from the three day ride benefiting GamesAid.

SCEE has partnered with Birmingham City University’s Gamer Camp, which will see the firm offering up PlayStation Academic Scholarships. The goal is to help provide an opportunity for the next generation of UK talent through professional development studies. Four students will have half the fee for Gamer Camp paid, as given the opportunity for paid work in one of SCEE’s UK development studios for six months. Students need to be signed up for Gamer Camp by August 9, and each will automatically be entered into the PlayStation Academic Scholarship. Thanks, GI International.

This is disappointing, friends. After just over a month of constant battle with hackers, Gamers Against Bigotry succumbed to an attack which erased all 1,500 pledges gathered so far.

Blizzard has announced its charity auction of retired World of Warcraft server blades has raised $330,000. The auction went live in October 2011, and featured a selection of blades which once housed WoW realms. All funds raised through the eBay auctions went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
