DICE producer Daniel Matros helps South African orphanage with e-sports
DICE producer Daniel “zh1nt0″ Matros is participating in an eSports charity event through Charitystream, a concept founded by Matros and Tim Kjell. What occurs, is donations are obtained by folks who watch live game streams and the money goes to orphanages around the world. The donations also help buy supplies and record documentaries of the team’s efforts. Raffles are taken part in by viewers for items donated to the charity by sponsors. Viewers donate to the charity fund and then take part in a raffle to win this object. Three days ago, Matros participated in a Battlefeild 3 livestream, which you can re-watch on Twitch TV. Activision donates $2 million to Call of Duty Endowment
Activision has forked over $2 million as a flat-out donation to Call of Duty Endowment, a charity it founded in 2009 to assist military veterans return to civilian life. Gamespot reports the donation comes on top of the $1.7 million the publisher raised through the sale of limited edition dog tags. The money will be awarded in grants to veterans’ employment organisations looking to open new branches.
