Sega Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works has been successfully funded on Kickstarter with four days spare. As a result of the extra funding, creators Darren Wall and Read-Only Memory have announced new interviews, artwork and an expanded page-count.

Diablo 3 companion guide Book of Tyrael is available now, courtesy of Blizzard Entertainment and Insight Editions. The 148-page tome is written from the perspective of former Archangel of Justice Tyrael himself, and it’s dedicated to the game’s lore, art and much more.

SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works is an 25th anniversary look-back at the history of Sega’s 16-bit machine. it’s now been funded on Kickstarter, and research for the tome has unearthed some previously-unseen concept art from such games as Toejam & Earl and Comix Zone.

He is also founder of publisher Hewson Consultants and 21st Century Entertainment, the same company that gave DICE its first break with Pinball Dreams.

EVE Online will be getting a four-part series of graphic novels titled EVE: True Stories. It will contain artwork from artists who worked on 28 Days Later, Daredevil Noir, Star Wars: The Old Republic and more. Wolverine: Origins writer Daniel Way will be penning the story which is based on actual player events from the EVE universe starting with the fall of the Band of Brothers in 2009. The first issue will be available on February 19, and it will run through April. A hardback anthology of the series will release on June 4. A guide for EVE Online and DUST 514 will also be released called EVE: Source and will release on March 5. Thanks, Shack.

Nintendo and Japanese publisher Dai Nippon Printing have teamed up to deliver a free eBook reader called Honto to 3DS consoles in Japan. Siliconera reports the software is aimed at grade school children and will offer novels for children, picture books and study materials at lower prices than their paper equivalents. No western equivalent has been announced.

DC has announced two new digital comics technologies to launch alongside Batman: Arkham Origins in late October. One of these seems like another go at dynamic comics presentation, with voice acting, animations and so on, but the other actually allows the player to choose what path the story will take. Kotaku has an example in which the player chooses whether Batman should follow the Joker or Harley Quinn, and has to go back to the start if they guess wrong. Golly, that’s almost a game. No platforms or pricing details have been announced as yet.
