The Art of Remember Me from Dark Horse now available for pre-order

Capcom has announced that “The Art of Remember Me” from Dark Horse is available for pre-order. Pricing varies from $39.99 to $24.68 depending on retailer. Your local comic shop may also carry it cheaper, or not, but it can be found through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and Dark Horse among others. It releases June 5. Remember Me releases on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 in the US on June 4, and across Europe on June 7.

Minecraft kids’ books due in September

UK publisher Egmont will release four Minecraft books in September. Develop reports the children’s manuals are called The Beginner’s Handbook, The Redstone Handbook, The Combat Handbook and The Construction Handbook. The publisher also plans for a Minecraft Annual, poster book and magazine called All About Minecraft. Egmont holds the license for Minecraft books everywhere outside the US, and has a similar deal with Rovio for Angry Birds.

Halo novel to help unlock “additional content”

343 Industries and Tor Books have teamed up with a cryptic promotion for Greg Bear’s upcoming novel, Halo: Silentium. From now until the novel’s launch on March 19, the developer will release “encrypted communications” via Halo Waypoint bulletins and forum posts. Clever fans will be able to use these to unlock “additional content” of some kind. There will be also be some kind of data “embedded” in both the physical and e-book versions of thew novel. Huh. Silentium is the third entry in the Forerunner Saga series.

Mass Effect: Foundation announces as first ongoing series

Mass Effect has spawned a number of comic mini-series, but at Emerald City Comic Con this weekend, Dark Horse confirmed the first ongoing series set in the BioWare universe. Destructoid reports Mass Effect: Foundation is being written by Mac Walters, the lead writer on Mass Effect 3, and will tie-in with the upcoming Citadel DLC. The first issue goes on sale on July 24.

Tomb Raider comic to release alongside game

Dark Hose and Square Enix have teamed up to deliver a prequel comic for Crystal Dynamics’ new Tomb Raider game. Called Tomb Raider: The Beginning, the comic was penned by the game’s writer, Rhianna Pratchett, and Destructoid reports pre-orders at US Best Buy stores will score a hardcover version for free. This isn’t Lara’s first go-round with comics; Top Cow produced a Tomb Raider comic series which began in the late 1990′s and ran for 50 issues, as well as spawning crossovers with Witchblade and Fathom.

Tomb Raider is due on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in early March.

Hyrule Historia is Amazon’s number one bestseller

After 93 days in the top 100, The Legend of Zelda’s Hyrule Historia is in the top position on Amazon’s charts. In the UK it’s number five, but it’s only been in the charts for 39 days and is on the rise. A very limited edition of the 272 page artbook was announced in November.

The Art of Glitch exceeds book funding goal on Indiegogo

Tiny Speck has reached its Indiegogo fundraising goal, which means a limited run book filled with artwork from Glitch, the co-operative MMO which shut down in 2012, will be handed out to supporters. With 14 hours left on the clock, the initial $17,000 funding goal has been surpassed with backers contributing $107,724 towards its creation. All funds raised will go into producing the hardcover book, additional perks for those who helped fund it, and what’s left over will help fun “Tiny Speck’s next venture.” The developers hope to have the book finished by early February or March. The Art of Blizzard to be on display at the Gallery Nucleus

The Art of Blizzard book, published by Insight Editions, will be released later this month and features high-quality visuals from the Warcraft, StarCraft, and Diablo franchises. The tome contains 350 pages featuring close to 800 individual pieces, including unpublished projects. To celebrate the release, on January 12 the Gallery Nucleus is hosting a show featuring over 60 pieces of artwork from the book. The southern California exhibit will run until February 3. If you would like to attend, you should head over to the gallery’s official website for more details. The Art of Blizzard will arrive in book stores on January 29.
