Starbound has gone into beta and will be made available on Steam later today, and you can also still pre-order the title from its official website. The beta will be released in three stages. The procedurally-generated sandbox title is expected for release on Vita and pulled in over $1 million in pre-orders. The beta trailer is below.

The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is now available on Steam through Early Access. That means if you’ve been trying unsuccessfully to get into the beta you can now buy your way in through a number of tiers, each offering various bundles of in-game content normally available through microtransactions. The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is a free-to-play PC dungeon crawler in which players make raids on each other’s citadels.

Bungie will begin distributing beta codes for shared-worlds shooter Destiny this week, according to a post on the game’s Facebook Page. Although this particular batch of codes will be distributed through social media, it’s a fair bet that more predictable distribution is on the way, so make sure you’ve registered on the website; pre-ordering also nets you beta access. Destiny is due on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One in the first half of 2014; we’re expecting a beta in the first quarter.

EverQuest Next Landmark will be handled by Sony Online Entertainment in all regions, which mean those in Europe will not have to go through Prosiebensat.1 to play the game or its beta. Rebellion has announced that social reboot Evil Genius Online will go into beta next week; if all goes as planned, doors will open to testers on October 23. The developer has asked registered participants to keep an eye out for en email granting access to both the test and a forum for sharing feedback; unfortunately, new beta applications are not being accepted at this time. Evil Genius Online is coming to Facebook and Zynga.com, and while it may not be the sequel some fans were looking for Rebellion has said it’s determined to do a stand-alone sequel.

Football Manager 2014 is now available through Early Access Beta through Steam to anyone who pre-ordered the title. The beta is fully playable and contains the main career mode and Football Manager Classic. Careers started in the Beta version can be continued once the finished game is installed. The Early Access Beta version of Football Manager 2014 will be playable until the Monday after release, November 4. The game releases on October 31.

DICE has released a list of the changed being made to Battlefield 4 as a result of beta testing. The list is rather huge and can be found through the Battlefield Blog and below. Some of the changes noted on the list include controller layouts for PS3 and X360, framerate, elevator catapulting which actually sounded rather hilarious, and the usual balancing and whatnot. Battlefield 4 will be available October 29 for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game will also be made available on PS4 November 12 in North America and in Europe on November 29. The Xbox One version will be release in North America on November 19 and in Europe on November 21.

Co-developed by Ubisoft Blue Byte and Funatics Software, Panzer General Online boasts tactical battles and card collecting in your browser. It has both a single-player campaign and several multiplayer modes, and battles are set in historic clashes such as Monte Casino and the Battle of the Bulge.

Ouya has a beta coming, which will test the console’s USB storage capabilities.
