VGAs 2012: a new hope (despite the Newell gaffe)

IGF 2013 finalists will have the opportunity to release their games on Steam
Independent Games Festival and Valve have signed an agreement for IGF 2013 which will provide the main competition finalists an opportunity to accept a distribution agreement on Steam. IGF 2013 will announce finalists in January, and award winners will be revealed at GDC 2013 in March. Thanks, Gamasutra.

BioShock Infinite video teases 15 seconds of full VGA reveal

The Last of Us – new character to be revealed during VGAs next week
A new character will be revealed for The Last of Us during the VGAs next week, according to a tweet from Geoff Keighley. The VGAs takes place on December 7 at 9.00PM EST. Those who do not have Spike TV will be able to watch the show on MTV 2, MTV Tr3s, Xbox LIVE, Spike.com and GameTrailers.com. Alternatively, you can just keep an eye on VG247 for any of the interesting bits, as I’ll be in front of the TV, liquored up, and posting anything newsworthy from the show.
