Tin Man Games secure license to develop Fighting Fantasy’s 30th Anniversary gamebook for iOS, Android
Tin Man Games, the developers of ‘gamebook’ adventures, have nabbed the license to put out iPhone, iPad and Android apps based on the new Fighting Fantasy gamebook from Ian Livingstone, co-creator of the series.

Sword and Sworcery coming to Japan next month
Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery will come to Japan on June 21 through Superbrothers, 8-4 and Capybara Games for iOS, PC and Mac. The game’s soundtrack will also get a release on the same day, featuring collaborations from Silent Hill composer and Grasshopper producer Akira Yamaoka, PixelJunk 4am’s Baiyon and FFXIII-2′s Misuto Suzuki.

Rumor – GameStop to start selling refurbished MacBooks
GameStop may start offering MacBooks as part of its refurbished line of products, if shots taken of the company database by an anonymous GameStop employee are any indication. It wouldn’t be too far of a stretch as the firm already has refurbished iPods, iPads and iPhones in some of its stores. At press time, a representative for the chain could not be reached for comment by Kotaku.

Jetpack Joyride goes into beta on Facebook, iOS version downloaded 25M times
Halfbrick has launched Jetpack Joyride on Facebook. Currently in beta, the game will allow players to complete with their Facebook buddies and post screenshots to their pages. Rovio acquires Casey’s Contraptions IP, new title releasing this summer
Rovio has acquired the rights to the Casey’s Contraptions IP from Snappy Touch and Mystery Coconut, and the firm will release a new game in the series this summer. The original iPad title has been removed from the App Store. The new physics-based puzzler will be the first title from the developer that’s not Angry Birds-centric, and upon release the game will initially launch on iOS and Android before extending to other platforms. Facebook to launch its own App Store
Facebook will launch its own App Center which will include not only apps available on the social network, but apps for iOS, Android, and even web and desktop applications. “The goal is to solve the app discovery problem… based on what you and your friends enjoy,” a Facebook rep told VentureBeat. The App Center will allow Facebook’s 900 million users to browse through the best in apps – both paid and free – and the apps listed will be personalized based on user and social data. The store will be similar to the iTunes App Store and offerings will feature ratings gathered from users. Data will be collected on how often users visit and linger on the app. More through the link.

Atari mobile games exceed 10 million downloads
Atari has announced its library of mobile games has exceeding 10 million downloads across iOS and Android smartphone and tablet devices in less than a year. The milestone comes on the 40th anniversary of Atari and Pong, for which a $100,000 Pong Indie Developer Challenge contest is currently under way. Consisting of cash prizes and publishing agreements for the top 10 finalists, developers tasked with reimagining Pong for iOS devices. The top 20 semi-finalists were recently announced on May 1 and selected from nearly 90 total submissions, all moving on to compete for a spot on the finalist rankings for June 19th.

New Republique video released as end of Kickstarter drive draws near
Camouflaj has released a new video for Republique on its Kickstarter page. The video basically outlines how to play the game, and it’s posted below. The project only has another 50 hours to go before the funding round ends, and only $320,680 has been donated towards the firm’s $500,000 goal.
