Way of the Samurai 3 hitting North America in October

wayofthesamurai3

Both publishers for Way of the Samurai 3 finally announced a release date in the US for the game.

Agetec will handle the PS3 version and UFO Interactive the Xbox 360 one, and both arrive in stores October 13.

Like previous iterations before it, choices you make in the game will affect how the story plays out but this time around, the fighting system was revamped, and the weapon creation bit has been expanded and retooled with 200 parts to work with.

An iPhone version of the game is up on the App Store, and according to D’toid, it looks to be more of a brawler. It’s also free for a limited time, so if you want it, check with your particular region to make sure it’s up before getting your hopes up.

Way of the Samurai 3 to be released by two publishers in North America

Spike’s Way of the Samurai 3 has two publishers bringing it to North America.

Agetec will handle the PS3 version and UFO Interactive the Xbox 360 one.

“During this economic climate, Agetec and UFO wanted to leverage our collective experience and knowledge to release a franchise title for both the PS3 and X360 platforms, while dividing up the total development cost,” a spokesperson told Siliconera.

“It’s a win-win situation for everyone, including the fans, who are able to get this title on the platform of their choice.”

Good to know, even though a release has yet to be finalized.

Hands-on with LOL

We had to post this. Gamespot’s had a go with LOL, the recently announced Agetec DS party game. To summarise, some people get together and draw stuff. LOL.

Its blank-slate nature makes it one of the more minimalist games you’re likely to find on the DS, rivaling the simplicity of Pictochat–or even just a blank sheet of paper. If you feel as though your imagination is up to the task, you can find LOL in stores next month at a retail price of $20.

Good luck with that.

LOL announced for America, concentrates on “comedic joy”

It really is called LOL, as in lol. Apparently, Agetec’s DS game is “a unique, free-form gaming experience,” and “LOL’s motto says it best: ‘If the game is boring, then you are boring.’”

Right.

“We decided not to include a single-player mode in the game because that would defeat the purpose. This game was created to be a social game that allows you interact on and off Nintendo DS with your friends,” said producer Mark Johnson. “LOL concentrates on the comedic joy of using the imagination of everyone in the room.”

God knows if it’s coming out in Europe. You can read more about LOL here. Be sure to wear your corset before you hit the link.
