DARK – Realmforge’s vampire, action-stealth game gets a teaser
Kalypso Media has released a teaser video for DARK, Realmforge’s vampire, action-stealth game. It’s posted below, and shows who we assume is the main character, Eric Bane, about to have a very, very bad day. Game’s out for PC and consoles in early 2013.

Report – Chronicle director signs on for Shadow of the Colossus film
Deadline’s reporting that Chronicle director Josh Trank has signed on to direct the Shadow of the Colossus film from Sony Pictures, after requesting the position. The report states writers are currently being interviewed. Trank, is apparently a very busy man: he’s supposedly discussing developing Fantastic Four for Fox and Spider-Man spinoff Venom for Sony Pictures, and is also reported to be working with Warner Bros on an adaptation of Red Star, so who knows how long it will be before SotC is released. A movie based on the Team ICO masterpiece has been in the pipeline Joystiq.

Zen Studios announces KickBeat for Vita
Zen Studios has announced a music combat title for Vita titled KickBeat. Players will take on the role of a martial artist who must beat up his enemies while staying in-time with music tracks playing in the background. Several songs by artists such as Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson will come pre-loaded into the game and users will also be able to use their own songs. The game will debut at E3 next month and will be released through PSN when available. Check out the video below.

Next Guild Wars 2 beta on hold to implement new hardware
ArenaNet has announced weekend beta plans for Guild Wars 2 are on hold until it can implement new hardware. According to a post on the MMO’s Facebook page, new hardware will help cull some of the issues the beat experienced during the stress test. Inside Xbox vets announce formation of Explosive Alan Productions
Inside Xbox vets Dan Maher, Ashley Denton and Gareth Wild have formed a new production company called Explosive Alan Productions. Details are scarce at the moment, but the group will be filming the Square Enix community event tomorrow. Microsoft halted production of Indie Xbox earlier this month, much to the dismay of the community. Thanks, MCV.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – Sam and Pat shoot through first 15 minutes
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is out now in the US, so Pat and Sam decided to load the game up and shoot things together. They even filmed their session, which includes the first 15 minutes of the game. Watch for yourself below. The Game’s out in the UK on Friday.

Total War – The Editor modding tool now available as free Steam download
SEGA has announced the availability of the Total War modding tool. The Editor enables modders to “create their own custom maps,” for multiplayer and custom VS AI battles across Shogun 2 and its Fall of The Samurai expansion. The Editor is completely free, and accessible now to Shogun 2 and Fall of The Samurai owners via the Tools section of their Steam library. Check out shots of it below.

Media Create has released its weekly retail chart for Japan, and Namco’s PSP title My Little Sister Can’t Be This Cute Can’t Be Continuing topped software with 53,175 units sold for its debit. 3DS was once again sporting the hardware crown with 45,752 units moved. CD Projekt RED will host a conference on May 30 at 5.00pm GMT where it will make a major announcement as well as reveal “a lot of other information” concerning its products and GOG.com. PlayStation Network going offline for scheduled maintenance starting tomorrow
Sony has announced PlayStation Network Scheduled Maintenance will occur tomorrow starting at 10:00 am EDT/4.00pm BST until 2:00am EDT/8.00am BST on Friday, May 25. During the maintenance, users will be unable to use the following services: PlayStation Store on PS3, PSP and PS Vita, PlayStation Network Account Management, and PlayStation Network Account Registration. In addition, you will not be able to sign in to PSN from the web. If you wish to play online during the maintenance, then you may be able to do so if you sign in to PSN before maintenance starts. Angry Birds Facebook beta concludes, now play as Angry Bird Friends
Rovio has announced Angry Birds on Facebook has left beta. Angry Birds Friends now includes a tournament mode, new weekly levels, and more ways to earn power-ups. Weekly tournaments last from Monday to Sunday allowing folks to compete with friends on four different levels. The best overall score will earn a gold trophy, with silver and bronze for second and third place in four new levels every week, available exclusively in tournament mode. Players can also earn power-ups through tournament mode, and earn three power-ups bundles for a gold trophy, two for silver, and one for bronze. Players also get a power-up for each tournament level they play, and one for participating in the tournament. Go hit it up now.

GAME confirms cancellation of GAMEfest 2012, event may return in 2013
