Updated: Burnout, Need for Speed dev no longer making racers
Further to news that Criterion Games is not, in fact, making a Need for Speed Underground reboot, studio boss Alex Ward has revealed while he, personally won’t be making another racing game, that he wasn’t speaking on behalf of the whole team.

Xbox Live sign-in issues in UK and US declared resolved
Microsoft has resolved a support issue regarding ing-ins, across both Europe and North America. The Xbox Live service status page no longer even shows a record of this weekend’s trouble, although problems with messaging, managing friends lists, Minecraft saves and daily challenges are sitll giving the platform holder some trouble.

Valve ‘fires’ prototype engineer, 25 laid off, Holtman exits – report
Valve has fired hardware engineer Jeri Ellsworth, according to a tweet on her personal feed. Also, further sources indicate a total of 25 employees have been laid off, and another report states Valve’s director of business, Jason Holtman has left, but neither of these two reports can be confirmed by Valve as of press time.

Aliens: Colonial Marines development “absolutely not” outsourced, says SEGA
Aliens: Colonial Marines is the talk of the town today, thanks to a run of poor review scores, and an ex-Gearbox employee claiming that the lion’s share of the game wasn’t developed by Gearbox Studios, but Section 8 team TimeGate Studios. SEGA has emphatically denied the claim, and during a DICE talk, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford even revealed the studios which helped the firm develop the game.

Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge content heading to PS3, 360
Famitsu has listed Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge content for PS3 and Xbox 360 release, confirming an earlier report. As reported by Gematsu, the content bundled in with the Wii U version will go multi-platform in Japan on April 4. Razor’s Edge content includes playable characters Ayane, Kasumi, and Momiji, gameplay improvements, new weapons and a new 25 mission challenge called Ninja Trials, which isn’t in the Wii U version, as well as extra costumes.
