The Evil Within trailer created by title-sequence veteran
Remember the unsettling live-action trailer that appeared last week to promote Shinji Mikami’s The Evil Within? Of course you do; it was goose-bump-inducingly good. It turns out the reason that it was so effective is that it was directed by Kyle Cooper, a veteran director who has created “over 150 film title sequences”, including The Walking Dead, Se7en and American Horror Story.
The Evil Within is set for PC, 360, PS3 and next generation consoles in 2014. In case you’ve not yet seen the trailer, you can catch it through the break.

Mighty Quest for Epic Loot trailer is all about the money
Ubisoft Montreal’s jaunty free-to-play title, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot, has a new gameplay trailer that shows off the title’s raiding and castle building elements. The video is narrated by the magnanimous Sir Painhammer, one of the hero characters that you can use to go castle-crashing through the magical kingdom of Opulencia.

UKIE calls for dev support in face of EU investigation into UK games tax relief
Last week, in was announced that the EU Commission is to investigate the case for UK tax breaks and stated that “It is not clear whether the taxpayer should be subsidising this activity.” Now, the association for UK Interactive Entertainment has asked that UK developers provide evidence to help bolster the case.

The Black Ops 2: Uprising DLC pack brings with zombie mode Mob of the Dead. Four new characters are contained within, to go alongside the zombie horde. Splinter Cell: Blacklist pre-order details are go
Pre-order details have started emerging online for Ubisoft’s upcoming Splinter Cell: Blacklist.
Besides the usual glut of retailer-exclusive DLC items, there’s confirmation of the physical goodies to be found in both the US Collector’s Edition and UK’s Ultimatum Edition, plus an overview of the Wii U specific features.

GAME now selling eShop codes
High-street retailer GAME has become the first retailer in Europe to sell Nintendo’s eShop codes online and in stores. The retailer is selling a number of Wii U and 3DS titles through its website, with six Wii U titles ranging from Singstar at £32.99 to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and New Super Mario Bros. U for £41.99.

New gameplay videos for Sir, You Are Being Hunted
RPS has posted two gameplay videos of Big Robot’s Sir, You Are Being Hunted. The videos depict running, gunning and scavenging across the game’s procedurally generated islands. Check them out below.
Big Robot is three-person indie dev team headed-up by veteran RPS writer, Jim Rossignol. The crowd-funded title is available for pre-order via the Humble store. The game will also be playable at Eurogamer and RPS’ PC-centric show, Rezzed, which is taking place in Birmingham in June.

Quantic Dream’s PS4 title has been in the works since mid-2012
Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls developer, Quantic Dream, was amongst the first developers to receive PS4 dev kits and began pre-production on its as-yet-unnannounced PS4 title in the middle of last year, the company’s vice president has told Eurogamer.
