Before you this year, you couldn’t buy anything on the PlayStation store with your Paypal account. Then in January you could add Paypal funds to your PS Wallet from the Sony Network webstore, and now you can use Paypal on your PS3 in the PS Store in the US. Sony notes you will need a Paypal account in order to use Paypal.

WayForward’s Shantae: Half-Genie Hero Kickstarter is a success with $811,962 in total pledges with PayPal donations factored in to the total. The developer earned enough with stretch goal pledges to add the Risky Boots Mode, two bonus chapters, and three additional costumes. PayPal will remain open for the remaining stretech goals and will go towards the reward tiers as well. We reported yesterday that Carmageddon: Reincarnation is coming to Steam early access, alongside a number of bundles for the game being announced. This announcement included that backers of the game’s successful Kickstarter would receive a “standard package bundle,” while a full package with all DLC would eventually become available. This has irritated backers of the project, who have pledged up to $50 already.

Stainless Games has announced that Carmageddon: Reincarnation will launch as an early access title on Steam early in 2014. This will release with a number of unspecified cars, levels, and game modes, which will be supplemented via updates in the following months.

The Kickstarter for Project Phoenix has ended with 15,802 backers pledging $1,014,600 in funding along with another $44,241 earned from PayPal. This brings the grand total to $1,058,841 and enables the development of an explorable overworld along with upgraded combat transition and players will now also be able to fight inside the Kraken. Donations are still being accepted through PayPal, though without backer-exclusive rewards. Project Phoenix will be released on Linux, Mac, PS4, and Vita in mid-2015. UK retail chain GAME has added more Virtual Console titles to its 3DS eShop catalogue. The new eShop titles include Super Mario Bros. (£4.50), Donkey Kong (£3.60) and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (£5.40); you can see a full list on the chain’s website. When you buy one of these titles at GAME, you get a download voucher either by email or on your receipt. The ability pay via cash or PayPal is the main benefit of doing so rather than buying directly through the eShop with a credit card.
