Square Enix drops new cinematic trailer for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT

Square Enix has dropped another new trailer for its upcoming fighter, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT.

The new video features the game’s opening cinematic, with heavy-hitters from across the Final Fantasy franchise facing off in a no-holds-barred battle.

Multiple main characters like Notics - who recently got his own trailer - Lightning and Cloud all make appearances, as do top villains like Sephiroth.

This latest entry into the Dissidia series is the first since 2011’s Dissidia Duodecim Final Fantasy on the PSP, and is being developed in collaboration with Team Ninja - of Ninja Gaiden fame.

Described by Square Enix as a “three versus three, team-based brawler”, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT features more than 20 playable characters from the last 30 years of Final Fantasy lore. Characters are split into four types: Front-line Vanguards like Cloud and Sephiroth, nimble assassins like Noctis and Lightning, distance attacking Marksmen like Ace from Type-0, and unique Specialists like Vaan from Final Fantasy 12.

At the end of the trailer, Square also showed off the game’s $190 Ultimate Collector’s Edition, which comes with a bust of the Warrior of Light and a hardcover art book.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is out January 30, 2018.
