Here are the new costumes - and an icy platforming stage - from the Super Mario Odyssey E3 demo

Super Mario Odyssey continues to look awesome.

This video, courtesy of Arekkz, shows off the three different outfits available in the E3 demo. There's the black hat and suit, which has Mario looking like a New York gangster as he runs around New York city, which is bound to be a favourite. The explorer outfit makes him look ready for an expedition, while the Builder outfit is very similar to the one Mario wears on the cover of Super Mario Maker.

Arekkz speculates that the costumes are purely cosmetic, which isn't necessarily completely true: in the Wooded Kingdom footage released yesterday Mario's explorer outfit opened up a new pathway.

The video also shows some new footage of an icy area, presumably located somewhere within the Sand Kingdom. This looks like classic Mario fare as Arekkz wall-jumps repeatedly to climb blocks and reach higher points.

Super Mario Odyssey will be available for Nintendo Switch on October 27. Check out Alex's hands-on report from the E3 show floor.
