Zelda: Breath of the Wild cheats show the game has a clever solution for problems like too many pigeons

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is equipped to handle your cheating ways.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild doesn't seem to have native cheat codes - alas! In these days of achievements, such things are almost extinct - but as usual modders have popped up to fill in the gaps.

Kotaku ran a report today highlighting a tool called Accio Master Code. It's in beta, only works with the Wii U version of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, has to be plugged into a third-party cheat tool, and requires reference to a list of item names - but it's still pretty cool.

Presumably named for the summoning spell from Harry Potter, the Accio master Code allows users to spawn any number of any object, item or character in Zelda: Breath of the Wild. In the lengthy video above, you'll see this in action (or just hit the link above to see some GIFs if you don't have 20 minutes free right now).

What I thought was really interesting, though, is the cheaters discovered Zelda: Breath of the Wild has a contingency plan to handle the nonsense you might throw at it. In the video, you'll see pigeons spawning in large enough numbers that you expect the game to crash - but instead, a Blood Moon is triggered.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild's Blood Moons as respawn enemies, but that's not all they do - they also reset certain aspects of the world state. The game's engine thus handily wipes away the problematic pigeons when it starts to struggle under the load.

It's really cool that the Zelda: Breath of the Wild team built in a system to handle something unlikely ever to occur except via cheating. It is possible that a glitch could maybe cause this sort of chaos, and if this very, very unusual scenario arises, why, the game's code knows how to handle it so the user doesn't experience a crash.

You don't need to cheat to finish this game, though; just consult our Zelda: Breath of the Wild guide and walkthrough. If you've thoroughly trounced it, take heart! A Legend of Zelda mobile game is inbound, apparently.

In the meantime I guess you could always spawn a couple of hundred pigeons. Everyone needs a hobby.
